this certainly is a crackin motor!
Another small update. Well all updates should be small now anyway since there is nothing really left to do other than clean it up a bit.
Started up the car this evening, yay, it still works.
The brakes are all sorted now. I just need to get the car on all fours and test them out to see if they are ok.
So I bought lots of bits from Rally Design and bolted them on to the car.If anyone buys these:

You have to take the pot off of the fitting or you won't be able to screw them on (they hit each other).
New front brake lines

The T-Piece for the front brakes

Fits on like so

Brake setup looks nice and tidy!
What are these for?

Reservoir's?
Ah yes! I can see now and makes a lot of sense! (about fitment comment)
Yup, you can just about see in the photo that they are angled away from each other.
Lookin good sugar lips :)
looking very good :D
Have you fitted rear disks now then Dar?
Looks super dopper..
Scott
Good job :)
Still rear drums Scott but something had to be done about the pedal travel. The pedal was almost at the floor before the brakes worked! The pedal is much better now.
I may have to get in there and clean it up a bit after looking at the piccys. Dust and goo all over the place. Thanks for the comments as well :thumb:
Ah i see, good idea, so how/what is the servo you have put in to attach the seperate resevoirs?
Scott
It's just a bulkhead balance bar box. So no servo. I got it secondhand, but I think it came from Rally Design.
looking god mate.
The car aint to bad aswell lol.
Had to drive the car tonight to make way for this thing.

So it was my first time trying out the new clutch which I thought was going to be a bitch. But I am happy to report that it's still very controllable on the clutch. Don't get me wrong it's visious when it does bite and the window of slip to locked is small but you can slip it to get going, then let it out.
The brakes will take alot of getting used to though.
Drift car?
Aye, easy to spot arn't theylol
nice wagon Dar.
strange, I didn't find my 4 paddle that harsh... thinking on it, it is sprung lol
I saw that beemer turning off your road when I left the other day, didn't reliesed it was stripped tho. What's the story?
If yours on a pedal box are anything like mine were then i would not bother!Quote:

Rick, going from using servo assisted brakes to non assisted brakes takes a little getting used to. They feel good though. If however they arn't then it's just a case of getting the right MC for the application. It's not a big deal.
Ive always loved this car, its good to see your still playing with it and buying new bits for it. but because of this car it has made me build mine and spent the £0000s i have:mad: god dam you Dar lol
your brakes never worked as they should ve becuase you never got them up to temperature they were too big imo, dar wont have that problem i suspect i have driven will foys car with the same set up on 290mm willwood 4 pots and when cold they are a pig but get the heat in them and they work a treat after a few minutes you soon get used to the pedal being rock hardQuote:

So what parts are needed for Dzus fastners? where from? please...:thumb:
Scott
how much difference do you think the splitter made dar?
I reckon it gave around 19% more cool  lol
Last year was a rubbish year. So I can't give you a proper answer, it felt good but I didn't manage any proper laps. I may run the car with the splitter off and then put it on to see if I can feel any difference this year.Quote:

Each fastener needs a spring. I can't remember the size of the ones I bought though.
