We thought the same thing, so we replaced the fan visco coupling thingie with a new one. No result. Also replaced the water pump, no result. Then tested the thermostat, works OK so again no result. Makes you wonder... We're going to book her in for a leak test and a coolant contamination test. And work from there. I'll keep you posted.Quote:

328's and 5's are known for head gasket problems along with cracked heads also when doing them there known for having problems with the threads for the head bolts and snapping them off just becarefull if it is the gasket when u do it
Just read through your whole thread, good read !! you've had enough cars hey mate, like me i suppose i just get boared of them too quickly so it's either keep it and spend money of modding it of do a deal for something else. You've had a varied selection of cars though hey, liking the novas the most tho, got a nice little set up by the looks of it now. As regards to the BMW problem it sounds really strange but rather like problem i had with a VW Corrado, it kept overheating to hell, it would just keep boiling up and spewing coolant everywhere !! i was just about to take off the head to investigate when i found out it was the seal on the expansion bottle cap !!! What a relief !! it may be somthing similar which is stopping the coolant being able to pressurise. Anyhow best of luck and look forward to the next update. p.s why the hell is everyone jibbering on about a Yaris ???
