some super progress again mate
what way does that body soldering work????
do u use a blow tortch/oxy accetaline ..and how much is the actual solder
ive heard it can b quite tricky...but im good enough an welding and brazing....so id b willing to give it a go to do my door locks

The kit for the lead filling is:
Lead (in 0.5kg rods)
gas torch (cheap type)
Maple (wood) scraper thing
Zinc chloride (a gray paste which you can brush on)
Tallow (a lubricant for the wood which you heat up and then put the wood in)

You get it all back to bare metal, paint on the zinc stuff. 'Tin' the zinc paste with the torch, put the scraper in the Tallow, then heat the lead stick and push it in lumps on to the pannel. Then go over that with the torch and spread it all out.
Its a little trickey at times, as the lead either runs off, or its hard to get the initial lumps on to the panel. You soon enough get the feel of it though..
Give it a go. Its only 30quid for the basic kit.. :thumb:
Got a couple more photos from the weekend.
Lead filled the seam on the upper part of the bulkhead to smooth it out a bit
The photo is after a go over with a sanding bit on the grinder.

I've cut the upper panel part around where the wiring comes out into the bay, and then welded a plate to carry on the line of the upper bulkhead part. Have spot weled it to the inner arch parts and seamed it up the pannel.
Lead filled and starting to sand this back now. Will give it a bit more lead, then a thin skim of normal filler..
