I'd love to use them wheels. With 205/40 R17s 888s they're actually 1mm smaller in diameter than the 195/50 R16s! I might be coming down to 15s yet, not sure.

Theres no suspension or anything on the car. Car is on those blocks and the wheel just pushed up in the arch. The arch lip obviously needs tweaking but with space framing the front end and running double wishbone setup and 45deg shocks it would all clear etc.

I used the grinder & welder to make those bracket stands up and my right hand got the shakes straight away when pulsing the welder trigger :( Its a good job I'm getting Lee to do the major welding work now as I think my carpal tunnel would come back.

My mate made a very good point - I could spend the next 6mths making mistakes and wasting money on materials or hand to him, help out along the way, and get it right 1st time. I know the fun is doing it yourself etc etc but sometimes you've got to know when your beat.
