Got this a while ago from Mr Fly,
No pic but its a Zlet oil pump and this pick up pipe.. Does the pipe look right? (to fit a xe/let)

Fiber glass sanded off..

Minging under there..

Cleaned that up, welded the holes up.
The didn't like the panel join of the front panel to slam, so ground it off, welded it over, ground that off to be smooth, then filled it all in one hit.

Have also shaped the front part of it so it looks nicer and is easier to sand around the mount...

Looking good. How will you mount your rad now you've cut the mount off?
Great work Benn. Is that sump level sensor plate the one off eBay? IIRC they're on sale there too Nortech stuff aswell.

Looks awesome Benn ive been planning on polising my stainless system for ages but no point till engine runs..
I thought you polished your own stuff ? Im dissapointed
lol
I normally do, but the exhaust is about 7foot long, my garage is tiny and has the car in it so there is no room at all. So was no point in doing the rear box, they might as well have it all to do. Even more so for the price, it took them 4hours to do it all (everything single part as been polished to a mirror finished) and charged me 60quid... (think my tv plug helped)
Exhaust looks the s e x mate nice touch
Should look nice against the blue...
Cheap for the amount of hard work it takes to polish it.
Since im doing this myself i was thinking, maybe the exhaust willstart to get surface rust.. and some of my other parts are starting to get it a little bit, do you think i should wipe them with some polish/wax or something to protect them.
What do you use to stop it Benn ?
If it stainless it wont rust. That's the whole point too it...
But yeah a bit of wax or grease will protect it. I wax everything as soon as it comes back from the polishers as it helps with greasey finger prints too and keeps it looking sexy.
Is your system a custom stainless?
I thought the same but my stainless exhaust pipe has sat in my bedroom for about 5 Month now and its started to get a bit of surface rust.
I think once its polished properly it will be ok though, i suppose wax on the exhaust is pointless because the temperature will kill it ?
if its rusting then its very cheap poor qualty stuff. Getting it polishing will remove rust from the surface but will come back.. Wax will keep it nice till its hot yea, but keep doing it and it will stay niceQuote:

Don't look it, but finished. Well needs a light 180 off then primer and seal up the under side. But it's mostly done.
