The distance between the centre of you wheel and the point at which is steers around (I.E the point that stays in the same place as you steer left/right when not moving) is called the scrub radius, on a nova it's pretty close to 0, to make the steering lighter, which has the negative effect of it not returning to centre so well. This also means when you hit something/get grip at the centre of the wheel it tries to turn against you less.
If you imagine having a massive scrub radius that isn't even within the width of the tyre (think home made go kart with wheels on the end of a board and a bit of string style, scrub radius being the track width/2) I'm sure you can imagine it will handle like utter turd, an exaggeration but hopefully it helps you picture it.
