Superb exhausts, eye-watering cost.

Any updates Colin?
perhaps the latest binky episode could give you inspiration!
Hi stt.
Apologies for the slow response.
I'm kind of at a crossroads with the Nova now, whilst I would really like to finish it and race it again, many things have changed, both in life and in the world of motorsport.
It's not far off 8 years since I crashed it and commenced the (extensive) rebuild. The fact that it's taken this long is telling, it's fair to say my enthusiasm has sometimes waned in the face of other demands on my time. Or perhaps I just got older.
I've not made a final decision just yet, but there is a very real possibility that I will call 'time' on the Nova, and pursue a different course. It's a bit of a heart-wrencher really, I've had this Nova 10 years+ and it will be tough to close the curtain on it.
Slight update on the situation I outlined above.
I’ve decided to strip out the engine, gearbox and a few other mechanical bits and I’ll be selling those off.
Sentimentally attached to the Nova as I am, I’m going to mothball the bodyshell for a while (thanks to my Mum for use of her garage).
I’ve got a few other things to sort out, but at a later date my plan is to bring the Nova back in a slightly madder guise. Possibly with a turbocharged motorcycle engine driving the rear wheels :)
The partial strip down has commenced;

2. Brand new Simpson Racing stainless steel exhaust manifold-simply stunning

4. Brand new MBE 9MD digital dash display

All sorts of other odds and ends will be up for sale soon as well. I’ll do a proper advert in due course.
Turbo motorbike engine would be good.
Yes, I think that’s the way to go. I know of a very good spec GSXR750 turbocharged motor for sale, making just over 300 bhp.
And you get a sequential gearbox thrown in.
But a turbocharged Hayabusa motor is even more appealing, with a lot more torque.
I need to do more learning about the drive options to transfer power from engine to wheels.
In the meantime I have an exciting non-Vauxhall car coming to me soon.
Fair play on the decision, I don't think I can ever consider selling mine after having it so long. Still remember seeing the shell in red mk1 form at your place when I collected some parts... Crazy.
Interested in the shifter but suspect it's a bit too much for me to spend to change gear!
CAE cable shifter kit now on eBay;

Race engine and QUAIFE gearbox to follow soon. Plus the Simpson exhaust manifold.
It's not a Vauxhall, but some people may be interested in what has replaced the Nova;

Cosworth fiesta?! :eek:
Yes it is Ben.
It's the original Mk6 Fiesta that Steve Scott (A1 Rallysport) built in 2005. Something of a legendary car. The engine is now a bit down-specced from what it was (originally 650bhp + 100bhp Nitrous), it' now running around 400bhp. But it's been upgraded elsewhere, with bladed ARBs, Ludde dog 'box, AP Pro 5000Rs all round, Fifteen52 wheels etc.
Just got a new PC and not got the hang of posting up photos yet.
Very nice! whats the plans with that? Using it for hillclimbing?
What will happen with the nova shell and all the other bits on the car? (being a vulture and all... lol)
The Fiesta is road legal, which will be useful for the odd ride out. The plan is a few track days, maybe a quarter mile event, definitely a hillclimb or sprint.
As for the Nova, give me a shout directly if there’s anything that you’re interested in. So far the only thing I have advertised (and sold) is the CAE shifter.
Everything else is either for sale to anyone who wants it, or will be squirrelled away for a future project if it doesn’t sell.
That sounds like it could be brilliant fun then! Look forward to seeing you out in it!
Yes, i will message you directly!
Things sold from the Nova so far;
CAE shifter
LSD
Quaife SCCR gearbox
Compomotive turbo split rim wheels and slicks
Carbon Reverie seat
Carbon Reverie steering wheel
Which means lots of stuff is still available - including the complete 200+ bhp engine, the brand new Simpson exhaust manifold, even the mostly carbon fibre-clad rolling shell. Some of it is listed on Ebay;

Serious enquiries only - timewasters not appreciated (you know who you are).
Well, I've flicked the 'Go' switch on converting my Nova to motorcycle engine(s?).
A few bits have been purchased, so far.
I think it warrants the start of a new 'Project' thread, I'll try and get the ball rolling within a few weeks if I can.
At the moment the plan is to modify my existing shell to a spaceframe at the rear end to accommodate the bike engine. After that, we will see.
I'd like to go twin engine and 4WD at some point, but that might be a step too far in terms of complication and of course cost!
I was going to do that ,just the rear end but after thinking long and hard it would never perform aswell with spaceframe at rear and old setup at front my advice would be go full space frame as you will only do it in the end and kick yourself when you havnt ,not only that doing the front aswell the suspension setup can be so much better

At the point you go full spaceframe you might as well find a suitable skin to put on it. No point in starting with this really nicely prepped shell if you were going to do that.
And there you've hit the nail on the head Iain, I am not aware of anyone making a full composite Nova bodyshell, which is what I would want. So I may as well work with the shell I have, which frankly is so heavily modified already that it's of little real value to anyone else apart from me!
