Looking great Colin!
Binky Update - latest episode available now for Patreon’s, tomorrow for general release!
Need to get the Nova back on wheels, as it's going off soon for a little bit more fabrication work;

New alternator on;

New fuel pressure regulator needed;

Fuel pump relocated and new fuel lines done;

Finally got hold of some trumpets for the throttle bodies too;

And some Uniballs to complement the new Hangar 30 front suspension which is going to be fitted imminently;

I have the same alternator, works fine, enough for the davies craig waterpump too. Like your Plastik tightner.
Use pitking catches from demon tweeks they are proven and work . This vid is why you dont use the ebay china ones

Got a link to the pins? Would quite like them on my bumpers but pitking come in too expensive
Proper Aero catches only on the bonnet for me.
Don't mind trusting the pit king ones I have for my tail gate but not for for my bonnet!!
these are the ones I’ve used;

Feels like a little bit of progress, as it's back on wheels for the first time in ages;

That looks awesome with the front end on or off! I could spend ages looking at all the trick little bits, fixings, carbon etc on it.
Saturday morning and the garage is empty (of cars!), for probably the first time since I built it;
https://i285.photobucket.com/albums/...szcghahgb.jpeg
The Nova is on a little holiday to the fabricator for a few modifications/developments.
It won't be empty for too long, as yesterday I went to collect the Peugeot 106 Rallye (race car) that I bought 3 years ago, and has been in storage elsewhere ever since. That needs a good clean, plus some reassembly before it goes up for sale;

New episode of Binky available to watch!
It’ll be interesting to see what engine they replace the Dover lump with? BMW/Land Rover diesel?
Some progress on my Nova, first time in a while.
New top mounts fitted;

Cam cover modifications;
https://i285.photobucket.com/albums/...shodix7s7.jpeg
Front bodywork prepared for the NACA ducts and an external fuel filler to avoid taking the whole front off to replenish the tiny tank;
https://i285.photobucket.com/albums/...suybssep2.jpeg
Whats the plans with the NACA ducts, going to duct them into an airbox?
My Nova will be coming home with me later today, so I'll update on the latest developments in due course.
Just got it home;

other distractions in the garage though;

Those top mounts look ideal, assume it's had complete new upper turrets to accommodate those?
A few top mount pics for Iain;

Tidy welding on the turrets, I love the adjustability that gives.
Bearing in mind you are always on the hunt to save grams, let alone Kg's, aren't the top mounts a bit overkill for what you need? Looks more like something you would see on a WRC car with all the bolts going through to the towers from the top
Don't get me wrong, i think they are a lovely piece of engineering and give excellent adjust-ability, and they are probably as light weight as they could be (with being pocketed so much) but i cant help but think you could have got away with something a lot simpler and therefore lighter... as with most things, once its set it wont be moving for a while...
Agreed totally Ben, but I’m now more fascinated by the engineering (and safety) rather than ultimate light weight.
I had my big accident in 2012 and walked away relatively unscathed. My car fortunately had a very extensive welded in cage.
If I’d had that same crash in one of the Minis I compete against, with a bolt-in cage of absolutely minimum conformity to the regs, I don’t think it would have been the same outcome.
It certainly made me think about the safety side of things, I guess we all do as we get older and wiser.
New episode of binky out tomorrow night!
What spec is engine? Will the cam cover mod make much of a difference?
Loving the strut tops & front brake setup.

Thanks, I’m pleased with the way it’s looking.
The cam cover modification is really just for aesthetics, no performance reasons.
I’m sure I’ve documented the engine spec when I first acquired the engine, which would have been back in 2013 approximately.
It’s a nice spec, built by DTW Race Engines, he was involved in building BDA/BDT engines for the Ford works team.
I have all the paperwork for the engine build which I’ll dig out.
Basically;
Omega forged pistons
Steel Rods SBD
Big valve head SBD
Piper Cams and vernier pulleys
SBD sump
Jenvey throttle bodies
MBE 9A4 ECU with MBE 9MD digital dash display
SBD wiring loom
Simpson Racing manifold and system
Awesome spec, The Simpson setups don’t half make a difference in performance compared to other systems. Tempted to get a system made for mine once it’s finished.
