Theres no seal around the shafts iirc, just make sure its all clean. Somone may correct me on this though lol.

Getting back to the gear oil issue on your XE, don't they have a drive shaft oil seal that seats in the diff and seals the gap when the shaft is in?

Some other makes certainly do and if torn (or absent) they can leak from there.

Oh, and don't adjust teh floor. Bin your splitter lol
