Looks well Benn... The silver rims seem to look much bigger than the polished ones even tho there not. Strange how diff colours can make that happen!
Looks good. Should paint the track bumper too.
It is odd, i found that and that they look so dull in looks compeard to the polished ones.Quote:

Im loving the wheels benn fab job :thumb:
Thank you :)
hi m8
just wonderin what was the process you used when you polished your wheels and how hard is it to do???
cheers
Get a wheel, paint strip it.
Start sanding whole wheel, 180grit, 320, 800, 1000, 1200. then polish on 2 different grades of buffing wheel with polishing soaps.
Hard to get a good finish, hand cause it takes hours.
benn, £100 for that door and other handle..? or if you want.. i can cut the handle out and we can sort a price out?
Hhmmm tempting.. let me know a price, if not i'll buy your mates.
Still got a new set of audi handles here if you want them.
Oh. Pm me a price dude...
Benn, just an idea but........ how about going for the smoother handle/door look another way? My old shell had custom handles which basically were made by removing all the rubber cladding on the door handle itself and just leaving a small metal base, IIRC theres two tiny holes in the handle base you can weld up then fill, prime and paint etc, jobs a good one. Much easier than the audi handles and they look cool too. The handles when done in this way sit flush into the door and give a smoother look all round especially when looking from the front to rear or vice versa. I later sold them to Rob77 on here Im sure he had a for sale thread some time ago for them when he broke his car.You could search for pics etc as I dont have any unfortunatly. Or I remember you saying you had the mags with my old car in? Check the tv feature when the car was pink as Im sure theres a cheeky shot of the handles there. :)
I remember those on Rob's car - looked quite cool.
Benn, £40 posted for the kits.. will cut as much spare metal of as i can for ya
Winter plans.
Gonna be removing my engine in the next few weeks.
Things to do.
I have an oil leak from around the oil pump some where. so find and fix that, clean block and paint.
Remove and clean inlet manifold, clean/polish/paint. Fit need bits i have been collecting.
Work out running ecotech pipe work.
Try and buy som silcon hose/made some.
Reroute water pipes so they are hidden abit more.
Gear box, am thinking about repainting my box as i have a light leak around the selector turret.
Strip, cleanand paint drive shafts.
Engine bay.
While the engines out, i'm going to...
Clean up and repaint the whole engine bay.
Remove wiper motor and try a ax with modded linkage.
Remove bonnet cable.
Weld up hole in fire wall thats not needed.
Remake all brakes lines and paint.
Maybe put battrey in boot.
Maybe add power streering.
Maybe buy and fit a let.
Think thats it.. but will change and update as i do/go.
Lol benn, nothing like setting yourself a challenge!
LET?

Have to say Benn, imo your car has always deserved something a bit more special than a standard xe :thumb:
Let would finish it perfectly!
PM on route about handles aswell.
Corsa Servo would add to the smoothness
Sell your engine and buy a LET.
Do you need to add a clar coat of laquare to stop them oxidising?

Sadly the bodyshop havent painted the skirts yet, but i'm in no rush for them.
Engines comming out at the weekend as i can use my work van, Manta wiper motor is at the postoffice now so i can play with that.
Gonna be spending the next month ding the engine bay.
My old boss isd gonna play the engine bay over crimbo. While i do a few gaskets on the engine, as i can afford a let at the mo. Got a load of bits for the engine to go. Thinking about a few crazy things too.. ;)
