All ready for tomorrow now.
Whats the tank for in the boot?
WI?
id say exactly that judging by the pump
It isn't but...
Convert to LPG and bang the tank in your boot FTW!
Yup its the water injection tank. Bought the WI setup and tank years back (2003) and it was more of a impulse buy than something i needed but since i had it i figured i might as well fit it lol .
Nope, its for a fuel mist spray system which can be activated when the car next blows up, it covers the car in fuel, then all you have to do is add the match:thumb:Quote:

Its now down at JP exhausts and the brakes are working spot on, as is the hydraulic handbrake.
Should be ready for mapping very shortly, hmm road, rollers or brunters!
Just need to do a few miles around my house to get some oil through it.
:thumb: nice one rick , will have to come say hello again soon
Rick you loser, get on msn :p

Just need to fix the fuel leak, which i have just order the aeroquip to do and then its 99% ready for mapping. Infact it could be mapped right away as i am only waiting on the dash carbon.
Todays bits:

Just need my new male male union from think auto then the mechanical side of the car is finished, bar a nut and bolt check over.
Fuel leak is now fixed.
Its also insured as of today.
Got to run around Macclesfield for a few days to make sure all is well then i will get it on the rolling road and mapped fully up to 2.2 bar.
I Give it a week max before its in bits again!
looking good rick :thumb:

Sounds miles better now. Just been for a drive, all seems well. Does seem a bit more noisy tham before but its down to the noise of the solid lifters been amplified by the inlet plenium. Got good oil pressure and temperature, decent EGT's and good AFR so all is well.
One thing of concern is the brakes are utter pap again, i have really ran out of ideas for things to try to get them better.
When you say the brakes are crap, in what way?
They just dont slow you enough? Pedal hits the floor?
Cant seem to see any reason why they should be crap?
Should be fooking immense compared to a std gm setup(even those work well enough)
Shortly after the sest drive and it looks like this:

I have dropped the oil and filter and am going to run a bit of sealer around the oil cooler take off plate as i am sure this is where the oil leak is coming from. I have also done a full nut and bolt check and am going around it tomorrow marking all the nuts and bolts with paint so i can ensure none of them are coming loose at any stage.
One loose exhaust clamp:

Tightened:

Looking into the braking issues, going to try deglazing the front pads and disks but my mate recons its a combination of my not warming them up and myself been a panzy on the pedal.
I have also adjusted the gear linkage as getting into 1st and 2nd was a bit of a bitch.
Brakes feel like metal on metal! Fells like i would have to do a flintstone to get the pos to stop.Quote:

Went for a spin in it to check the brakes and its seems they are all fine now, i will not disclose the problem but its all sorted lmao.
The gears have gone all homo just as i pulled on the drive and its got a oil leak that i am going to have sorted by my mate so i might as well just have him finish it all off.
Brakes had no pads fitted?lol
sounds awsome mate! once your mate has sorted the above, time to go back upto Mark's isnt it?
Sounds fooking superb.
That alone would make me glad i spent so much money/time in getting it where it is today :)
SO, what was wrong with the brakes? lol
I took it down to the garage earlier to have the ol leak fixed but on route i broke down:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...r/CIMG2421.jpg
Yep front wheel had come loose lmao
Anyhow at the garage the leak was diagnosed as been loose unions on the oil cooler plate, this was also linked tot he braking issue as well as the oil was spraying onto the barck of the drivers side disk!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...r/DSC00216.jpg
All tightened and fixed:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...r/DSC00217.jpg
Few other issues though, linkage feels like its binding causing problems with some gears, oil leak from the flywheel end of the sump and then there is this one:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...h_CIMG2420.jpg
F28 sounds like it wants to leave the building lmao.
I am getting my mate at the local garage to fix all of the above and i will supply a new F28 to fit.
Well thought deglazing the pads had fixed it, but it was actually all the oil on the rear of the drivers side disk causing the issue lol lolQuote:

From what I can see from the video clips you really only need 2 gears. 1 little normal one to get yourself going then 1 fooking great big straight cut gear out of some old tractor with the same ratio as 5th or 6thlol . Otherwise know as first and wheelspinlol lol
Sounds awesome rick :)
Glad to see it up and running again.... watching the vid the power just looks/sounds awesome :)
