TBH it's the same as you would see form full interior'd STANDARD GTE/GSi
I would never expect a gsi to only do mid 16's! a true running gte/gsi should see high 15's
David.
Ive never seen a gte/gsi run a 15
my gsi did a 15.3 and my mates did a 15.5
David.
15.3?
Fcuking hell!
Standard power/car???
I couldnt get my 1600 16v into the 15s when it was a standard engine.
no chance on a standard engine with interiorQuote:

Mine and my mate Mike's GSi when mine/his were 100% standard use to do 16.4's, but his Turbo'd e16 with DTA etc use to run 14.3/2's IIRC..Quote:

its not hard at all on 888's! alot of people think good times are hard to come by for some reason.Quote:

Hi,
I took my Nova to Shakespeare County Raceway yesterday for a few runs (managed 8 runs)
Bit disappointed with my time and even more so my trap speed, but could have been worse I suppose! Not been drag racing for over a year so was a little rusty.
60ft = 2.220
330 = 5.913
660= 8.85590
mph1 = 83.66
990 = 11.287
1/4 mile = 13.45073
MPH2 / Trap speed = 107.33MPH
The rest of the time I was getting 104/ 105 and 106 mph.
NEED MORE POWER! :)
PS: kept getting whooped by big power scoobies and skylines / supras... :(

I didnt say it was, but trapping at 95mph with a 13.8 means the 60ft was very good... I never hit 2.0 on 888's, tbh I hated them, they were worse than normal road tyres for me...Quote:

BFG's aren't bad tyres either to be fair!
David.
here is the slip for my time, I have always used 888's nothing else so wouldn't know if anything is better

It's a LET (Rickardo's old car / chequered flag on the roof and bonnet) - Frontera intercooler, boost is at about 0.8 ish bar in 5th gear from what I can make outQuote:

Was a very warm day to start with and I was only trapping 104 and 105mph
Then as the day went on, I seemed to get quicker trapping 106 and 107+ , it seemed a bit peppier. Maybe it was the cooler air?
Running normal tyres, normal pressures etc.
I think with a perfect launch on the day (2 seconds? could have scraped a 13.2) as it was my best was 2.2 which is not great but a lot better than my first go ... 2.7!!!!! :O
All the scoobies and skylines were getting 1.7 and 1.8 off the line so I didnt have a chance. Nearly caught a poxy Scooby RB5, wish it was a half mile for that one would have got him!!!! He got 12.8 @ 105.6 or something.
I recorded the runs with my camera, but unfortunately only got my first two **** runs before ran out of storage on the ****ty camera. I'd like to smash it for missing my better runs!!!
Sounds about right to me mateQuote:

Get some 888's on there and let them down to about 8-10psi, warm them right up before a run and you'll knock that time right down imoQuote:

Yeah will try those tyres, got them on my Astra Turbo, very good. Just standard diff AFAIK I assume that would be an open diff ?Quote:
