looks great olly - whats on the 27th?? december or jan?
27th December mate, noisy day at Donington (no noise restrictions lol)
Good job really, as the marshall said I was very close to the 98dB noise limit on Saturday, but he said it wasn't induction or exhaust noise, he described it as a "high pitched squeel" on the meter readings, I just smurked lol
Jesus Olly, you don't hang around do you!
Fooking hell, if it was 98DB on Saturday, then its going fly over that limit with the bodies on,Lol.
Lol @ high pitched squeel lol
Just been out on the car for 20mins, but its too blooooody cold, so come back in again, very little progress but hey ho...

Just oil light to sort now, and I was going to use the neutral ("N") light, as my ECU light, but I won't have one on the MBE management, so might have that as handbrake.
Already ordered 3 seperate gauges, oil pressure, water temp and voltage, with a carbon dash pod
Think I'm going to mount it in a carbon surrounding that'll fill the gap nicely
I wish i had your motivation :(
That dash is mega cool!
Look smart Ol, what do the two buttons do?
What he said/\Quote:

Good work Olly, Dash looks great!
Give me a shout if you need a hand with anything!
Good work mate.
Just make sure your car is within sound limits if you go to Bedford, their seriously strict.
As you know its the reason Ad and I wont be going :(
Thats the killer mate, 87db is pathetic, we'll have to get a sound meter and do some testing really, then maybe i can be tempted to come to Bedford lol
Dash looks neat olly. Good work. Wasnt a bugger to fit then i see!
Quality little item tbh . Much better option than spending ????!
Top work mate keep it up!
how will you pick up a pulse for the speedo?

On with the fitting throttlebodies...
Last pic of standard inlet/ loomed engine
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0484.jpg
All inlet/ airfilter/ loom/ injectors removed
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0485.jpg
Injectors on new rail
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0486.jpg
My reasoning for using blues over creams, four holes similar to let yellows, as opposed to single hole on creams
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0487.jpg
Back of empty head, new gasket
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0488.jpg
Throttle linkage put on the bodies
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0489.jpg
Bodies on... ish
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0490.jpg
linkage bracket fouls on the alternator, which doesn't allow inlet to sit against head so gotta think of a new way of mounting it - strange?!
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0491.jpg
Came in after that, due to loads of faffing, will sort it out - remove rest of old loom, install new loom and ecu - and get her ticking over tomorrow with any luck :)
that im sure will sound crazy .....
great read this thread cheers ....:)
YEAH BABY! lol
I hate the black paint around my heater matrix, looks sooooo crap, just not sure what to do with it
The only thing I can think of, is paint the "hole" bit black, behind where the firewall should be
i personally would say it would look better if the matrix was moved and area sprayed to match the bay ??Quote:

can you not lower the alt, as in T40 application on small blocks?
olly, i was just thinkin, with respect to people fitting electronic speedo f28 boxes into astras etc, could the speedo switch you've got give a reading on the electronic calibra clocks. but i guess you need the speedo unit you've got to calibrate it all.
Went down to Mardi Gras Motorsport today to buy new clutch, they had it in stock on the shelf which was handy - fantastic service too
Helix boxes & part numbers should anyone else need them
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0492.jpg
Helix Sprung 4 Paddle Friction Plate, Helix Uprated Heavy Duty Pressure Plate & CRB
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...ure/nc0493.jpg
Another thing to fit before 27th lol
being sprung that clutch should be less harsh than a fixed plate?
