Would be tempted to take it to PV if there weren't so many chavs there. Would hate leaving it on the stand and wouldn't be able to enjoy the rest of the show. Thats why I took the XE beast last year.
Yeah that's the down side to pv.
Shame i'd love to see the car.
Have to say after seeing this for the first time a few months ago it really is mint and is up there with the best i've seen. Im not suprised you don't take it out much, mine never gets driven when its been raining. Especially now i've stuck everthing in Rich's old shell, the light blue shows every mark.Quote:

Small boring update.
Well, its been another full year and the Nova hasn't left the comfort of the garage even for an MOT in 2010.
I have decided I need to actually try and use the thing this year seen as its costing me in insurance for nothing. In order to do that I want to make sure I am happy with everything reliability wise.
I have just bought a Z20LET oil pump and modified pick up pipe that i'm hoping to get on with fitting at weekend with some assistance from Mr Dixon. I am not convinced with the pattern part fitted previously or the high mileage GM item fitted currently so this should ensure things are right on the oil pressure front. Should have done it right in the first place.
I fitted the Helix paddle clutch after the rolling road disaster so that should hopefully cure any lingering clutch issues (hopefully it will calm down a bit after bedding in as its juddery as hell) Another job I should have done right first time. I can see a pattern emerging.......
Bloody hell, I'd be itching to use this motor if I had it.
Hope you get it out and reliable, nothing worse than oil pump problems, killed my friends LET aswell, 9k to build the car and it's done less than 300 miles in 5 years.
You didn't use the car this year at all? Not good dude, you need the love again and getting it driving right and feeling happy driving it will do that.
I got a Zlet oil pump after reading some stuff you've written.
And it's a learning curve...
I thought you'd invited me round to help break it, I really should listen on the phone lol
Thats probably what will happen after we have put it back together and something else goes wrong.Quote:

Bloody hell i thought we were actually going to have some progress for a second then, stupid me!
It came to the end of the drive for its agreed value photos for the insurance and thats as far as it gets. I have been distracted with the MR2 last year.Quote:

Looking back I think I would have been alright with the Helix organic clutch, I think the problem was the billet flywheel being so shiny and perfectly machined was causing the clutch to slip against it. I dulled it up with some wet and dry this time before refitting the clutch.
Ah i'll remember that as i'm ordering one of them too...
