Thanks for looking folks.
It'll be a shame to get it dirty lol
Damn that looks good mate!
Looking really good there mate
Nice work Iain
Are they flo flex lower spring mounts?
How happy are you with your bumpers after you sprayed them in upol mid grey? Do they look too dark?
I need to decide if to do mine
That's serious love everything, so clean. :-)
Quick question on the rear spring upper insulator do you have the curved or chamfered bit at the top or bottom as I just got a set and am going fitting mine soon .
Thanks
Edd the bottom spring mounts were on the car when i bought it years ago, but iam sure they are the same as flow-flex ones.
As for the bumpers, the paint looks spot on imo, i will try get you a pic of one of the bumpers out in the day light to show the shade for you, but its the closest thing to factory mate.
Thanks for the good comments folks.
As for the spring seats murph, the top ones should just sit onto the platform like the o.e vxl one buddy, i hope this helps ?
cars looking amazing mate such attention to detail :)
Dude the underside looks great. Top work.
Thank you everyone for the comments.
i dont think i can say anything apart from woooooow
Looks fantastic mate :)
Nick.
Shes looking Damn fine there Iain. Give her a few coats of wax/polish underneath then its all easy wipe clean after you've had it out n about :thumb: edit: The Nova That is lollol
Cant wait to see this in the flesh, stunning!
Small update on the nova folks.
I decided to give the front end suspension and steering components a refresh recently which turned into me buying new bilstein dampers and all new bushes and bearings and having the powder coating re done ! flol.
so any way here is what is was like before, which wasnt that bad, only a light amount of over spray from the respray and light damage over the years since it was first done.

http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/1283/pict1875x.jpg
http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/4316/pict1877o.jpg
Got to love cable ties lol
http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/3224/pict1879.jpg
While the bits were off at the powder coaters, i dismantled my dampers and sand blasted the top mounts spring cups etc
http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/2231/pict1887.jpg
http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/1522/pict1890.jpg
Then painted them all and fitted new bearings and spring dampers
http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/9291/pict1904j.jpg
http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/4622/pict1906.jpg
Also blasted the hubs and painted then aswell
http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/1264/pict1900p.jpg
Then i called into the powder coaters and my way home from work the next week to collect all the parts.
http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/9210/pict1896.jpg
Fitted new bushes to the traction control arms and used new bolts to secured then to the car
http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/9754/pict1903.jpg
The new bilstein dampers all built up with the top mounts etc, and powder coated springs to match the rear ones.
http://img826.imageshack.us/img826/1056/pict1910.jpg
Also finished painting the rest of the brake lines on the car, still some areas of the white paint to touch up and steering rack boots to change but still.
http://img808.imageshack.us/img808/1462/pict1944.jpg
http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/1660/pict1943.jpg
Now the front end it all built back up with new bolts etc.
http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/8387/pict1933x.jpg
Not bad for a set of brakes i salvaged off of "H1GTE"
http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/1332/pict1936.jpg
http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/3695/pict1935r.jpg
http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/7954/pict1938.jpg
Then fitted the new rear dampers also got the rear dust covers from bazil as the dampers never came with any so got a pair of old ones from him and cleaned them up and covered them in blue heat shrink so they match the fronts now, and sand blasted the metal caps at the to and powdercoated them in work the only blue they had lol, big thanks to allan for these, saved the day once again lol.

going to looking into the trailer and its quite handy your insured to be able to tow a trailer lol, yeh thanks again for the covers you are a legend !!!!
Thanks buddy, yeh i always protect the paint when iam jacking up the car and suport the car also, as would be a shame to damage the paint ect after all the hard work and effort that is put into the car.
OOOOHHHH SHINEY
Cracking mate:thumb:
Given me ideas for more things to powdercoat now that i wouldnt have done before :p
Its def worthy of it but its not going to be a trailor queen is it???
Iam glad i have give you ideas buddy, lol not a chance only time it has been on a trailer in the five or so years i have owned the car was to and from the body shop ! I would not use a trailer to go to a show, i enjoy driving the car far to much and have built the car to be driven !
iain
Absolutely lush................ Its builds like this that'll make many including myself try even harder next time round. Which will only be a step in the right direction for the vaux scene as we push to give the vag scene a run for its money.
Nick.
Awesome stuff Iain mate
All looks top drawer
Hope mine ends up as nice as yours
Oh Lordy, superb attention to detail, I need to start again looking at this build.
