Not doubting it working/works, just to me seems pointless. Sound and feel, and counter for assistance.
Helps to get it a tad more accurate, but then again your shift point changes in every gear and it takes an accelerometer to judge where that should be really (the ar$e dyno is not so accurate) I wouldn't use one myself but I see the point of it.
i like the shift lights, just not the adhiesive tape holding them down..
Agreed peest. On the list to change ;)
My shift point is always the same now I have the shift lights ;)
A couple of hundred revs before the limiter.
I'd love to say it's at the point power drops off but it's making power all the way to the redline and power is only Limited by revs. If it revved higher it'd produce more!
Sound/feel isn't always easy with a helmet on, windows up etc.
Concentration levels can get the better of you.
Fair point, your shift point most likely is the same in every gear then.Quote:

Why would you rev much higher than the peak Power? If it drops off quite quickly then it's time to change.
You want the highest average power across your gear, from start to finish, going 'up the hill' to the peak and then starting at the bottom doesn't achieve that, starting halfway up the hill and going right over to the halfway on the other side does.Quote:

**** to here, see the bumper mate, i hate it when ****s have no regard for others cars etc, i hate parking in big carparks like tesco, always find a dent most times...
Been on an unofficial 1/4 mile day today run by straightliners.
I just couldnt get this thing to launch properly, anyhow..
Shift light worked well!
Hit 13.6s@107mph*
2.30s 60ft
130.2mph over 1/2 mile.*
I was only 2mph over the 1/2 mile behind a new m3 :)
I was expecting quicker and I'm sure with better tyres and a better launch it will go quicker.*
Driver error on my part as I'm no drag pro!!
I will say though, as the day went on my times got worse as my launch hot better and a lot of people said the same so I'm not so sure of the accuracy of the timing. It was also very slightly uphill and a strong headwind on the airfield.
Hence:Quote:

Fair play on the terminal though,
MR2 did 13.4 @ 99mph so if you sorted the launch you would destroy that time.
Oh for absolute sure mate.
The surface was absolutely shocking.
It's like rough concrete airfield surface which switches to smooth tarmac at the 60ft point with a slight drop off the concrete to asphalt which caused me to spin up again losing precious time.
No doubt at a proper strip with decent tyres, it should be in the very low 13- very high 12s.
Did you see the 1/2 mile speed too.
I have 130.5mph on a slip here.
However,
A brand new M3 V8 ran 12.9s 1/4s all day with consistent 132mph 1/2 mile speeds!
So, with the right launch....
With the right launch I would say low 13's for sure.
I destroyed a new BMW 135 M sport by a second over the 1/4 in the MR2, to say he wasnt happy to lose to a rusty 25 year old car would be an understatement!
LOL!
I was against a TVR Chimera that was running consistent 12.7s all day today and apart from my launch where he edged ahead, I stayed the same distance from him up to the 1/4 mile line.
So yeah, new tyres it is then!! lol!
Decided I'm gonna go back to OEM shocks and eibach springs as I really can't get on with coilovers. I can't set them up how I want them and I liked the eibachs on my old cars so....
The BCs will be up for sale when I get back and I've just paid for a set of eibach springs off Dave Fox. Cheers dude.
Fitted some gathers rear speakers today too courtesy of weggy to give it a bit more sound. Miles happier!! I think I may go for an active 10" sub to give my toons more punch (d&b/dubstep etc)

Nice, ummm, fog light
I'm guessing its an import, hence the light switch?
So this got stripped for it's bits, returned to OEM spec and flogged last December!
Bought an E36 M3 Evo in the mean time last October while it was for sale.
Left the RAF, now do something else, sold the M3 and now have a TT company car!
TT with suspension chocks still fitted? lol
FLOL
Not anymore!!
