how much you charge too have a engine put in and all wired up if all the parts are there ?
cheers sy means alot to hear that a previous owner is impressed with what i have done with it
in regards to keeping it its not money related at all and to be honest i dont think i will get rid its just all it does now is go to pvs which seems a waste to sit in a shed for 11 months of the year but if i dont find someone that wants it and will look after it its no skin of my nose if i keep it
Collection looks great Ste,
The Rio looks sweet as ever :thumb:
loving the astras and the green nova bud!
Cheers guys im seriously thinking about starting up on my own as i make all my own mounts and stuff aswell just dont want to jump in feet first and end up like chris astley
Do it Ste,
its clear that you have the skills/mind to do it,
but as you said, don't get over your head and take things slow :)
go for it mate you have the ability!!Quote:

Good to see such a tidy engine conversion on the green mk1!!!!!
thanks mate as i say i wanted an o.e look im glad everyone thinks i have managed it the airbox was a pain
Loving the green one and wish my engine bay looked as tidy, that's the problem with the Mantzel boxes as they make the bay look untidy.
Are you off to billing Ste?
dont think so but i am doing pvs as usual give me a shout when your leaving billing and drop in and have a nosey yourself if you want im only an hour from billing
Yeah that would be good probably a good end to a decent weekend, cheers :)
do you have any pic of how you got the air box to fit mateQuote:

this way i get the induction noise and retain an o.e look to the bay
its the little things like that that you dont see very often because people would rather just throw a cone filter on when they realise a standard air box wont fit rather than engineer a way of making it fit
its the little things like that that give it the factory look and that i am pleased with the most
you gonna start up a little buissness or something then ?
had a spare hour or 2 today so i got abit more done

looking good ste as always keep it up,did you get my pm
Cracking Fab skills ste. :)
Nick.
Awesome fab work there dude.
Cracking work, the frame as it is now i'm beginning to see how it goes together!
the more i look at it the more i see needs doing its realy starting to drag out abit now but if i can get a few hours every other day theres no reason why this shouldnt be driveable at the back end of september not finished but driveable
gonna start looking seriously proper once the panels are in
Top work, some excellent fabrication skills.
i probably want far from you on Saturday i would of liked to have good look at this.
done a little more today not alot though as i had a full exhaust system to make and fit on a mates nova and a universal back box to put on a 306!
Striped the cav sofa of the 5 stud 4x4 subframe and put the nova on its side and welded all the underneath up
also went and got all the sheet metal for the floor ect and had it cut to size and shape.
also who said it would be heavy? i picked it up on my own and theres not much more structural stuff to go in and yet it took 4 of us to pick a striped gte shell on its side

Good work, as said the fabrication looks amazing!
Although i loves ya Ste, and this project is cool, it still makes me sad that you killed a cav
if the rust bug didnt eat it i wouldnt have killed it spud you know that. when the sill litteraly falls of with the skirt and thats the good bit its passed it dont you think?lol
if i seel the green nova soon i may be buying another cav turbo any way
thats underside shot gives me ****ing wood!!!! properly awesome
i feel honoured that ive seen this in the metal, and its amazing...
i have made up my mind aswell i am going to do less driving now and more private work services repairs and custom work and hopefully build a buisness out of it in the long term so without making it sound like an advert if anybody needs anything doing get in touch
theres not actualy that much structural stuff left realy now just rear suspension triangulating it all cage and front engine mount as im not going to use the chassis leg conventional mount im going off the front cross member and a few bits on the front end like moving the turrets out ect other than that its all pannel work then blasting whoop whoop

im sure i can sort something mate lol
thing is if i had a full day every day and the cash just sat in a pile to do it i think i could finish this in about 5 weeks!
im only getting about 6 hours a week at the min if im lucky so i just make the most of what time i get
