OOft, looks like Bazil is building one from scratch :) Nice :thumb:
BRAVE Bazvil... Brave..
I may sound dumb here, but if you rip all that off the "shell"
How will you line it all back up?
You have a mammoth task ahead of you!

Oh btw bullocks with doing this lol
Not brave, just stupid lol
Matt, measurements, patience, and measure again, I'll be doing only 1 panel at a time starting with the rear chassis legs as I'll need them in place before doing the floor, then after the floor I'll do one quarter then the rear panel then the other quarter,
Southie, it's way beyond the haynes lol I'm thinking 10+ spanner rating
Get it done Bazil lol
On a serious note, you got the floor sorted yet ? So work can commence
Is the weather holding you back ? As I know up norf it can be cold
It's like the Med down south :d lol
Not got the floor done yet, spent today moving all my parts to move with a view to start the floor, the weathers not to bad a roasting 7 degrees today lol
Bazil what will be left of the original shell ?? front floor pan & vintag for the slam panellollol. Major respect for doing the project
Bazil you are off your head, fair play for taking it on but it'd be scrapped if it was mine, a used good shell is surely the way to go is it not?
Bazil if you're looking for a reshell pm me lol
Hes just cut up a great shell so i dont think hes looking to reshell lol
Are we going to get some good updates now after your recent activities?
lol, not just yet, I'm still oncall till may the 1st so after that I have no time restraints so better progress shall be made
Hahaha love the "i dont have the budget for that" comment:-P Haha how much have you spent on it now mate???Quote:

this is a totaly unrealistic rebuild, in almost every area, anyway I had it out at the weekend while moving stuff in the shed, and then put it back where it was lol
getting nearer some actuall progress,
Have you stocked up on welding wire.
Na. Going pop rivits and glue lol, maybe some self tapers and speed clips for the chassis legs lol
Or No Update
You got all the panels you need now then ?
Get something like this ?? For doing the rear arches and inner wings to make it look more factory ?? Or for any spot welds
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ram-Tools-Spot...c#ht_760wt_922
i was going to hire one edd for the likes of the quarter panels, rear panel etc, the small hand held jobs might not have enough power to penetrate through the chassis leg rails and inner wing join, so i'll just use the mig on many high stress areas, i wont be doing any stitch welding allong the lines in the bay as i want to keep a factory ish look but will be stitch welding from the underside for a little added strenght,
i think i have all the parts now, so just some concrete work and i'll be sorted lol
in hindsight i feel i may have started this build thread a bit early, seeing as how i havent actuall done and work in about a year :(
Cpms are willing to donate many lengths of 3x2 cls to help you put it together;-) (and not the cheap stuff, proper treated stuff) Hahaha, could Mibby stretch to a Box of super strong 25mm drywall screws;-)
Shhhh!!!
Just dont tell charlie.
Hahaha

lol and heres me thinking this wass an update to say it was finished
well a historic day, the gsi lost its last bolt on panel, the n/s door came off, actually i didnt even do it lol Iain done it for me,

LOL progress is about as fast as mine lol lol
I work at the speed of a glacier lol
Come on Bazil stop mincing about and crack on :d
Shouldn't Iain be working on his Sport rather than doing your work ? lol
