i had the same throttle body setup many years ago,
i just used the same method as sbd use for the C20xe cable..
like this but made a different bracket.
much more simple than a jenvey linkage.

What front hubs are you using?
how extortionate would it be to have some made from titanium?
Have you gone into how much each gram of weight saving has cost you?
I guess £1500 for a significant weight loss of un sprung mass isn’t too horrific once you’re chasing the ultimate gains
Have you seen ‘aubrey_boy’ mini build on turbo minis? It’s a really interesting project on weight saving and a superb project.
Im getting too old for spending ages on forums and there are only a few builds I follow now (this being one) but it’s well worth a read
http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/i...=vt&tid=479642
Hope it doesn’t distract you too much reading it. It certainly shows the snowballing of a project.
the only problem I have reading all these builds is it highlights how poor my ability is!
Glad you liked it,
i used to follow him on the old vauxsport forum, he was building an xe midget.
the attention to detail is something i could only dream of.
I’m guessing you’ve been watching project binky? That’s another build with incredible attention to detail
That was out last night Colin.
Shut up!!! Was it!!!! Watching now then!!!!
It’s out a day before for Patreon’s!
Have you got a plan as to when it will go back to a 1 litre turbo?or is it just as funds permit?
how much quicker will it be with the smaller engine?
It’s very much a question of money. I’m spending most of what I earn on house restoration right now. But it’s still my desire to go back to forced induction.
There’s no real reason why 250bhp+ can’t be achieved from a 1000cc turbo, running lots of boost for short duration sprints. It might be needed too, there’s now a 1000cc turbocharged Hillman Imp which is getting great results at various hillclimbs.
Binky alert - next episode out now!
the alternator solution is amazing
Good shout
I’m a Patreon so I get it 24hrs early
Tomorrow it is!!!
Not content with the Binky series alone, I’m now watching the Retropower YouTube where they’re building a Mk1 a Escort for Gordon Murray.
Only watched the the first episode so far, but promises to be interesting I think.
House, stt and anyone else who’s interested- have you seen there’s a new out Binky video of 40 minutes duration, solely about the machining for the alternator installation?
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0tzWC2G3mr0
I watched it this morning, can't beat a bit of milling and lathe work.
Heads up for the next instalment of project binky - out for general release tonight at 20:00
doea anyone have any idea what the 4 holes in front of the internal door handles are for?
Apologies for the delay in updating - there will be more soon.
Decided that the the fuel tank needs modifying to avoid the front clamshell being removed to access the tank, so a new cap is being welded on and will have a hole in the clam it’s filled through.

I gave up on the idea of centrelock wheels, and had the front drive flanges lightened, and modified to 4” PCD, which allows my new wheels to go on;

Debating whether to add some retro style Manta 400 vents into the front clam, so I acquired a laser cut template;

Discovered a major problem with my alternator, so I now have a brand new one, ready to refit with some new wiring.
The throttle bodies are now modified and ready to bolt back on, so in due course I’ll do some photos and update.
In other news, you may have seen in other threads that I’m planning to convert to coil on plug using Audi R8 coilpacks, and eventually have all the fuel and brake plumbing redone by Mitch at Proline Motorsport.
I’m also planning to change the front suspension links over to the Hangar 30 kit.
Progress on the Nova partially delayed by getting sidetracked, a friend of mine gifted me this Aprilia Habana scooter when he sold his house, and couldn't be bothered to take it with him;

I am far too easily distracted.
