I'm house sitting in Winchester with my other half at the mo. So i have to come home in the morning to pick up my work van, so i'm using the Nova all week. Been a while since it's been a full daily driver.
But you know what? i'm frigging loving it!!
Is only about 20miles each way, but at 7am the back roads i use are nice and quite so i can just rip dow them. Lots of boost a few hand brake corners too.
Best bit is im getting great mpg too.. hahaha
But the other morning i had to drive home, wash the car before putting it in the garage and going to work... As the whole front was covered in bird sh*t. There must of been a whole flock in a tree.. Wasn't happy!
Winning 4 light force spot lights on the bay for a whopping 120
i think bathfart was referring to the northern use of the word 'bird' lol lol
lol what can I say I liek scat lol
I'm happy with waking up without a hangover as I was pretty drunk last night, woke up on the couch though :/ probably couldn't be arsed to walk to bed. I didn't drink all my beer either lol
last day of work before holiday love it
Starting up the Nova today, first time since Billing.
Went out for a drive up to Matlock Bath in the Spider. Weather was great so had the roof down. Parked up on the front where all the bikes park, god knows how but I managed to get a space straight away.
It attracted a bit of attention from passers by :)
Carried on over to Ashbourne on some great roads and stopped at a nice pub with the wife for lunch. Got back to the car and it would not start lol I think the starter is duff. Luckily I had parked at the top of the carpark so stuck it in reverse, rolled it back down the hill and bump started it :)
Go it home OK to find a guy parked on the front in a VXR8 with £400 in his pocket for my spare front splitter left over from when I had the 888 :)
going on holiday to the spain tonight cant wait iam going to keep eye out for novas as well if I see any I take pics :)
Picked up a new engine for the nova...recently rebuilt 20seh with head work, piper cam and pulley, loom and ecu.
Just need a few bits (see wanted section) before it goes in the nova.
car passed its mot
Walked out my job as a valeter last week. Expected to be jobless for ages but start at my new job building engines on Monday!
I left for vacation from today. Tomorrow will be my wedding, then next week we travel to Turkey.
Started the bodywork today. Last of the jobs before it goes for MOT/tax and alarm
Moving into my new home.
my local bearing/industrial supplier having exactly what i wanted in stock, again....
Embarking on a 10 day 11.5k mile journey from Heathrow across America in an hour or so.
Not even packed yet lol lol lol
lol talk about leaving it to the last minute lol
Haha where about you going?
2 days in Chicago, 5 days in Vegas & then 3 days in Washington.
Got helicopter tour down the grand canyon to the hoover dam whilst we're in vegas aswell, already downloaded "Ride of the Valkyries" (from the Apocolypse Now helicopter scene) to play whilst we're in it lol. Planning on visiting the muscle car museum in vegas & also one of the shooting ranges out there that have a Barrett sniper rifle. Ride in a yellow cab & obviously "follow that car!", get a photo with an America copper, play atleast one slot machine, eat 20oz steaks, drink piss water beer & generally try not to die flying home on September 11th :/
Its gonna be a blast. Metaphorically speaking that is.
Got it all planned out eh! Sounds awesome. Have a good holiday mate :thumb:
Not the best day to be flying home from the states .... lol
Off to a BBQ tonight so our lass can't watch X Factor hahaha lollol
Trip to Upullit in the nova for a nosey, and found three combo's, there werent any last time i went, came back with a roof lining and sunvisors, and A pillar trims complete with all clips and screws, and a headlight switch for front fogs, all for £8.00 +vat :d
Getting a new tyre fitted to my sr! It puts it back on the road so well chuffed :d
i sorted our trusty old dumper truck today, it had been royally abused by various staff members who think the magic trade-in fairy is getting us a new one...it had its steering column pulled out of the steering box, shagging the column & the steering box seal in the process, its been thrashed from cold, with no attempt at cleaning any muck off it, and its aircooled, so one of the heads blew a gasket.
so i rebuilt the steering, fitted a new replacement column i found for £70+vat, when the genuine ones are more like £300
pulled the blowing head off, cleaned it up, fitted a new head gasket & shims!!!!, if you want to see a crazy engine, look at a lister
took all the outer panels off, straightened them by hitting them with a digger, put them back on..
used the gas on the drawbar to straighten it cos the digger couldn't reach.
sawed the tailpipe off the exhaust cos someone flattened it..
so our pile of [s]crap is now worth several grand & ready to go out on hire again.
like TJ once said, i really need to get a copy of the 'A team' music for when we get spannering.. i love workshop saturdays
32 miles with the retro boys round the don river in doncaster, start point was the prison so we entitled the ride 'Escape from Doncatraz' lol
The sea view from my hotel in Cyprus
Butterscotch angel delight
Consecutively catching 3 wasps under up-turned pint glasses in the pub garden, then before leaving turning every other glass upside down and watching the barmaid gingerly play the game.
I'm easily amused though.
Ripped out one of those **** ripspeed DVD flip out screens and fitted the standard stereo
the kids all went out at the same time.
so for the 1st time in a very long time, me & the mrs were alone in our house.............
of course...lol lol lol
oh, and this morning, i finally got to use my fathers day gift.. i went to the turkish barbers shop & had a full hot towel shave with a cut-throat razor... it was remarkably relaxing & i'll be doing it again if i actually get invited to anything vaguely posh
