You might be right Jezz, it was possibly 2.5 inch before, in the single box guise that Steve Scott built for it. Which was very loud.
It it now has 2 big silencers in it I understand.

Mike Edwards did my system,I asked for it to be big enough for a two litre Duratec ,it's 2.5 inch iirc so be very surprised if it was bigger ,did one of Matts manifolds fit or did he have to make a bespoke one ?
Nice pictures of your Simpson exhaust posted on FB - you'll be happy with the fabrication, we were with our Corsa S1600 !
The quality is amazing
seen the pics on Facebook, looks like an nice set of pipes :d
Sorry for the delay, a few photos of the new Simpson manifold and system;

I've also made a new floorplate for the pedal box, as the clutch footrest was getting in the way of actuating the clutch pedal (that's because the pedal box was from a Fiesta S1600, so would have been used with a sequential 'box and clutchless gear change);

Realy like this mate nice job and that rear exhaust section looks nuts .
All coming together Colin :)
If it were mine I would be looking to reroute those rear brake lines so not near exhaust & get some rubber / mounts for the beam where / how they attach. On the Thermostat housing why not weld a 90 degree elbow then run straight to rad avoiding manifold heat etc.
Yes, a few little alterations to be done now the exhaust is done. I asked Simpsons to build it how they thought best, and I would alter anything else afterwards.
I'm well pleased with the results of their work, quality of service too was exceptional - almost unheard of in motorsport.
Looks really top quality; can't deny a new manifold is on the wish list too!
Funk that exhaust is nice!
Looking good Colin ,like the v bands,wish I had got them on mine,although they look a bit heavier!
I agree with Jezz. Mines quite heavy too, but it's never failed a sound test.
Looks Awesome, it will be a pleasure to work on too.
New battery installed with the proper mounting bracket;

Things have been sidetracked a little as I decided to tackle some changes to the rear end of the car, which I'd been thinking about doing for a long while, to save a bit more weight and relocate the anti-roll bar, which will allow me to fit a bigger rear diffuser;

That's all been cut away now (still to comply with the Modified Production Regulations for hillcimbs);

Revised rear anti-roll bar fitment commences;

Got one of these as well, so more modifying ensues;

Looking good Colin, where are you mounting the RARB, back to the body?
Love the CAE, have been looking at one for mine for a while, it is a proper opel one or another model adapted? Love to know what you think to the shift quality and feel
Hi Ben,
There's a couple of options for mounting the ARB, but I think it may end up being attached to the original rear spring platforms.
The CAE is the proper Corsa A set-up, installation isn't going to be quite as straightforward as it should be due to my engine/gearbox being lowered.
I needed to remove the exhaust manifold today, so thought I'd post up a few photos;

What a pleasure to work on with V-band connectors.
Lots of work happening here Colin; some extreme body mods behind the rear suspension - Is it going to be boxed off then some carbon inners?
Manifold is sexytime no doubt! And the shifter too! If / when I revise the manifold then I have V bands to go on; makes perfect sense.
Manifold looks lovely, the bump on the secondary to create an equal length?
Do you find the V band clamps easy to get on and off? ill be upgrading my system in the next couple of months and wonder if these are the best way to go....
A slightly more constructive way to spend a rainy New Year's Eve;

Is that an all-in-one steering wheel and rear view mirror? :)
That looks like a crazy build.
where did you get the carbon intake from been looking for something similar for my car or do you know where something like this maybe available from thanks alan
Thanks I'll have a look
A new, wider rear diffuser has arrived to complement the revised rear end;

Now I've gone this far it seems sensible to change the exhaust so it exits out of the side (should have had that done when it was made!!), so more body mods;
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps3gbamzlt.jpg
Ooohhhh very nice, did you get a weight saving as well?
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...swha4lsrd.jpeg
There will be a small weight loss due to less exhaust tailpipe, although the new diffuser is very slightly heavier than the old one.
Need to work out where the optimum position/angle for the diffuser will be, to get the most out of the aerodynamics.
Hiya buddy where did you get your nova doors from im the lad that bought the nova you sold to andy stodarthttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f11058676d.jpg

Looking like good progress, you'll be on the hills before me I've no doubt ;)
Unfortunately I have no idea who made the carbon doors on my car. I bought a whole car just to get the doors from it!
All I know is that the guy who made the doors built high-end kayaks for a living. If anyone happens to know who he is, please let me know, as I'd be keen on getting more sets made.
