If it still hasn't turned up you could always do what I did, phone or email your insurance company and ask them to email you the certificate, print it out and get it taxed. I had no problems at the post office.Quote:

Whilst taxing it online seemed a good idea, theres all the talk of being able to drive it or not whilst the tax disc is in the post. There is a loop hole (in the law about displaying a valid tax disc at all times) where you have a period of grace without the disc but only if the new disc preceeds one that just ran out. Mine doesnt preceed the last disc as thre is nearly a 5 year gap.
Anyhow. Documentation arrived & I have a tax disc in my hand.

Normally I have a carefree attitude towards tax etc but I wasnt in a rush to go anywhere in it & dont fancy a fine or even being pulled tbh.
