Year the rear will have a standard mk2 spoiler, flushed boot with a modified VW boot opener (the badge that lifts up) - replaced with an Opel badge - detailing either side this will reflect the chrome bar across the front. Am about to start on the rear bumper but 1st need to do a bit of work on a couple of models... See page 7 of thread for basic design of rear...

As for lights will be making my own similar to these but using those from a landrover!

not had chance for a few days - been working lates and the wife's been dragging me all over the fecking central belt looking at houses in my spare time! (shes relocating jobs).

Also been working on Dave's and Vaughan's models in time for PV.

And my last excuse is the weather on my days off has been totally sh1te!

I WILL however get the rear bumper started and hopefully shaped this weekend as I'm off work till next Tuesday!

You'l need to send me some pics of what you've done to my model Nova - I can't wait to see where your at :)

Today I are mostly be building a rear bumper...

The rear bumper will be made in a similar way to the front - a foam core overlayed with fibreglass the filler to get the exact shape. A mold will then be taken and a fibreglass bumper assembled.

As I'm smoothing my boot, the bumper will have a number plate recess and I wanted to do something to highlight the exhaust.

I started with the basic shape which is effectively one single peice of foam across the back . I had to stick a few bits on the end because the foam wasnt long enough (typical) and put a few strips behind it to build it out to get the right depth. Its about 20mm shallower than the standard bumper but is much deeper (closer to the floor).

After I'd build the basic "box" (effectively a panel across the back and sides), I cut out the plate recess and exhaust area -

I then resat these sections to take into account the final curve of the bumper -

I then needed to see what it looked like with my smoothed boot. So I took my standard one off and fitted the smoothed one. For reference I've decided to ditch this actual boot and will be making a proper welded one (this ones just too heavy). Did a bit of sanding and hey presto - basic bumper shape -
