Need to get back into nova mode if i wanna get it done for trax !
Havent you finished this yet?slacker lol

WTF !!!
Right, got a opel gsi steering wheel to put on the car and i noticed that the wheel sit a a right funny angle ! Is this normal, looks well odd. The column might have a little adjustment in it but not enought to get the wheel strait. Having never driven a nova its not something i have seen .
Got some more toys. Got an exhaust expander for the back box and some surface mounted aerocathces.
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/7/20512433510.jpg
These aerocatches are well smart, well over engineered to. Bit of a hit or miss afair to getting them located right tho ! I have tryed to keep on side of the catch parallel to the vents in the bonnet.
Dodgy cutting with massive air saw !
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/7/21012434760.jpg
Big hole, no going back now.
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/7/21012434773.jpg
Catch in place.
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/7/21012434798.jpg
Quite symmetrical
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/7/21012434888.jpg
Also got round to trial fitting the strut brace with the power cap, Its a tight fit !
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/7/21012434723.jpg
Fingers crossed, its the big paint up this weekend. http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/image...es/biggrin.gif
Always thought those catches look **** hot.
Keeping with the rally theme i have decided to fit a pumped extingusher. It turned up today. Do i put one pull handle in the dash and one near the scuttle panel ?
Also where should i aim the 2 jets !?! both at the engine or should i point one at the internal tank !?!

Like the colour mate, the manta rims look funky.
So the car is all primed, just needs a rub down and painting, i wish ! Had a half day on friday to prep the body, my fingers so sore after all the rubbing down i have done. Got the roof, qtr's, wings, boot lid and the strut brace rubbed down ready to paint. I did rub down the bonnet and doors but there were a couple of ripples in them so they will be re-primed and flatted again.

Thanks for your kind words :) . Hope to get the bonnet and doors done by the weekend.
Got my bonnet and two doors rubbed down ready for paint and im not happy with them so there back in for some more high build primer to iron out any rippes thay may have.
The bonnet was a right pain as the sealer on the inside started to come away from the frame and the skin. I have had to remove all the old sealer and replace it. the skin of the bonnet then got a bit messed up so it need some sorting out with a block.
This is the old catch mounts whic were rusty so they had to go.

Oh, i got a problem as i think the steering wheel is just to on the piss to use. This is the lower bracket on the column. Looks bent to me, any one know better !?!
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/8/22413430660.jpg
The pic might need enlarging !
can you post a new pic of above?
the mesh part you can just see at the bottom of the pic is the bit that is designed to collapes in a crash, sometimes they get damaged when using a <cough> hammer <cough> to get the old wheel off is it straight??
steve

Mounting seats ! Had a right **** trying to get the buckets in. Managed to mount them in the end tho so thought i would give a little discription of how i done it.
First i removed the brackets for the standard seat, makeing sure not to disform the runner !
http://img1.putfile.com/thumb/4/10012043046.jpg
How the runner then looks
http://img1.putfile.com/thumb/4/10012042912.jpg
Then i bolted some angled metal to the bottom of the bucket seats (forza). All i had to do then was trim the angled steel to allow the runners to sit cetral to the seat then tack the runners to the angled steel.
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/8/22413430564.jpg
With these seat i could only get about 2 cm overlap so i had to add a brace to the runners/angle.
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/8/22413430535.jpg
Forgot to get a pic when they were all welded so i will get one next time the seats come out.
The i had to find a way to mount the harness's. I used the original seat belt mounts and straitened them out.
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/8/22414053699.jpg
Then just bolted them to the spare holes in the bucket seat.
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/8/22413430547.jpg
All in place
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/8/22413430622.jpg
Rear harness mounting
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/8/22413430623.jpg
R u actually going to rally this as those harnesses are not legal anymore!
No mate just track days. But i wanted to get the car as close to rally as possible cause when its sold it give the option to upgrade parts to be ledgable to rally, i think !
Had a word with my boss today and hope to get the nova a space in the workshop for a couple of weeks, should get loads done :)
Now the car in nearly in one bit im feeling a bit lost ! Got 1001 little jobs to do, im much better at doing the big jobs. theres to much thinking in all the little jobs.
So i made a start to the fuel system. The whole system will be running on -6an braided hose using jublee clips on push over fittings. I will be using the standard cav craddle:
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/8/23607250539.jpg
Got myself a new fuel filter gave the pump and clean and a mod to use the -6an pipe and mounted it in the back.
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/8/23607250529.jpg
More pipe work will follow soon when i figure out a way to get through the bulkhead !?!
Also found time a bit of time to mount the extingisher
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/8/23607250639.jpg
Boot install, its got to be better than a f*uck of big speaker ! http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/nod.gif

I need some help with my plumbing !
In this pic what pipes need to go to what connections ? All connections are highlighted in red.
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/9/24314234236.jpg
Scene as the hold fixes down on either side headlamp panel there is no need for the middle brace, this is removed to aid the fitting of the rad.
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/9/24314201412.jpg
Dont know why the rear wheel lifts off the same time as the front even when im jacking off the very front of the sill, maybe theweight of the engine or maybe the car is very ridgid !
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/9/24314201498.jpg
This part is fixed to the inlet manifold and has a water jacket, is the water jacket needed and where should the pipe from the inlet manifold connect to !?!
http://img2.putfile.com/thumb/9/24314201516.jpg
Fitting a decent cage makes the shell stiffer thats why the rear wheel lifts off.
All caged novas ive had do it
Good progree by the way
