And non the car

Unfortunately Paintstore gave me the wrong colour blue, so after spraying then flatting again, out came the Halfords rattle cans! The finish is pretty good, but the cans ran out on the LH wing so the finish is a little dry.
Now some blinging painted up pics :D

Looks like its going 100mph just sitting still!
But i know thats pushing it due tot the engine shortfalls PMSL
Joking aside, that looks special mate, cant wait to get on track with your good self!

Some rubbish driving evidence, in my defence this was some experimentation with not braking into surtees, it got better lol
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a91...h_IMAG0071.jpg
and some pit straight overtaking action
http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a91...h_IMAG0054.jpg
that looks mean now!! good work fella!
there and the dreaded 'back' lol good stuff mate! well into that!
Good stuff mate!! Glad to hear its alive and made it to and from ;)
lookin really fierce mate, sounds real good to definateley one to watch on the track lol
Surtees is a belting corner when you nail it. Did you get to the point where you end up in a kind of controlled tank slapper? lol
She sounds wonderful mate, itching to get mine out in a week now!!!
Cheers for the comments guys :D Got a few little styling (!) bits to sort before combe and a bit of a detailing session (!!) then I'll be fairly happy, until I've got the cash to fit my cams ;)
BT - I never had it in tank slapper mode, u must be mistaking it for a big block  (cheap shot, sorry) I took a different line, I turned in late and straight lined the 'S' as mch as poss, before standing on the brakes before clearway. Seemed to be rather effective too :D
Theres loads of ways to go through there, iirc the last time i did brands i never went through it the same twice lolQuote:

understeer thru the LH, understeer thru the right hand or even both! Guess it must be a bit of a lottery! Sorry I can't help myself hahaQuote:

Does seem to torque steer a bit more (shocker I know with no torque!).
Cool. So a little tweeking and you will have it just how you want it:thumb:
It's getting there slowly :DQuote:

Cheers!
Although where it is now, is on my drive with a busted engine
oh dear, explain....
Went out for a 20 min blast. Was driving in a spirited manner, but not limitering it or anything silly. Dropped it down a gear for a corner, went to accelerate out the other side and it started spluttering like a misfire. I knocked it to neutral revved it and it sounded sheeite so I killed it and coasted to my mates house. Pulled up and started it and it sounded like it had snapped a rod or something stooopid, so turned it off. Got trailored home, topped up the oil (was low) and fired it up and it is tapping like an angry keyboard warrior. Think it must've got starved of oil and seized a lifter or two.
I've got new cams to go in, so I'll strip it, get some new lifters (possibly solids) if thats the prob and hopefully it'll be hunky dorey :thumb:
Unlucky, dont you just love cars. Its been the same for mine expect it was every week for last 6 months lol. Hopefully its not too bad.
Its head off time, no compressioon cylinder 4 :(
This is an all too regular occurence with my car

Gutted for you mate. Thats a kick in the kahoonas.
The amount of running about poor old Colin has to do for you lol
agree with lee, gutted, but as you say some cams are waiting to be fitted so stripping it down can at least be justified even if you werent ready quite yet
Thats a fair point Dan.
Neil your right he cancelled a table and made his GF wait for their date last night to come pick me up, think I owe him lol
Hurry up and ring him before you owe him a gf lol
To quote the man himself ''Bros before Hos'' lol lol lol
shame about the engine mishap - car still looks fast on the trailer tho
Let the stripdown commence!

what have you done with your alternator to get it out the way oli ?? i was thinking about running a small jap one off the front of the block ??
I made a bracket out of thick steel (heavy :( ) to lower the bottom mounting point by about 1"-1.5" then made an extended top arm to go between the 13mm headed bolt on the cylinder-head to the 13mm headed bolt on the top of the alernator, just a bent bit of steel with a hole at one end and a slot at the other, to allow adjustment. Then get a belt to fit from Halfrauds.Quote:

It is road legal, but it's absolutely sheeeite on the road cos its so stiff and light.
I've only got a tiny race battery so it needs all the help it can get, I would like a smaller alternator tho, cos the standard Corsa GSI one is definately overkill for the amount of electrics my car has lol
