Chances are when the cam timing is adjusted we will end up with 1 powerband not 2.
It tails off at 7700 ish iirc and then comes back on at 8k lol
Once its sorted I imagine we wont need to go above 8500k
Nice writeup, ive heard very good things about the Steves at track and road.
Good result that.
Whats the full engine spec?
Enjoy it Ad :) Lol
Its a mix up of loads of bits that came available to me a few years ago that Ad decided to put on his (what was at the time basic tb xe build) lol
Pocketed Accralites
Cat Cams Steel Rods
Lightened and balanced crank
Blydenstein cylinder head
QED 450 Camshafts
QED Double valve springs
QED Solid lifter conversion
Jenvey tapered tb's
MBE 967
Simspon manifold and system
Baffled sump
SBD Steel gears in the oil pump
Thats the main bits anyway
Thats a big spec. Sounds like it should make some more ponny's when it's all sorted.
Maybe looking at around another 10-15hp more power he reckoned and we should see some of the torque back.Quote:

Not having much luck with gearboxes at the moment, done 2 in a week and looks like this one might be on its last legs already !
Being sensible I'm going to source one and take it to Germany with us incase the one in it lets us down lol :thumb: :D
Well I thought either Ad or I had updated this thread but obviously not lol
The trip to Germany didn't quite go to plan, along with a million other problems that we had prior to leaving we picked up a noise coming from the engine whilst passing Brussels :(
Rather than even attempt to fix it there we had the car recovered home and hired a car instead !
Once we were back the car was dropped back off at my engine builders who quickly found out that a shim had come off a valve ?! on starting it back up there was still a noise so he asked me to remove the engine so he could inspect it further.
So this weekend I got round to taking the engine out, after a few hours I was left with this :

On closer inspection of the engine I found that a valve guide had broke off which is where the noise will of been coming from. So in a while I'll be dropping it off to have 16 bronze guides fitted along with some other bits then with any luck it will be back in time for a rolling road day myself and Ad are attending (Ford day)
If you look carefully in the pic you can see the guide :

Not long till its back together with any luck !
