bang on mate it looks awesome!!
Nice to see it running again mate, one of the best, and one of the reasons i wanted an XE nova.
Scott
It is a beauty, back to multi-point fuel injection again then! lol
oh rite, ive just changed mine to a 4.2 final drive, also going to get a longer 5th from quaife as the 5th ive got currently will limit me to about 118 iirc lol and that wont be much good with the turbo etcQuote:

Big day tomorrow!
Nova booked in at 3.45 for its MOT!
Took it for a quick spin last night on my private road to make sure everything seemed ok.
Forgot quite how noisy it was!
So with a bit of luck tomorrow it could be back on the road :)
Good news Martin.
I must say, looking at the start date of this thread, you have long 'winters' oop Norf. lol
Yea i know.Quote:

It did feel good when i took it out last night.
Forgot how quick it fealt!
Dont know why but i'am always so nervous when my cars go for MOT's!
Me too. I hate MOT's. I try to buy cheap cars with MOT on.
Coming back to Novas is always odd, surprising how easy they are to fall in love with again though. All the bad things are what I love.
you know you enjoyed driving it mate hope the mot goes well!
This is another thread that needs pics!
I do take quite alot of pics, just dont think people are really interested in pics of rubbish i take!! lolQuote:

That's brilliant Martin. best way to describe the MOT feeling also, like an expectant father. LOL
Toovey dynoed & mapped the engine.Quote:

Tim Adams where i dropped it off builds big V8 race engines, but he built mine previously when on carbs, so i asked him to do it this time.
He is good friends of Toovey so no idea if it was a joint venture or Tim built it & John mapped it.
John came to my house other week to sort few starting issues out. Worked his magic out on laptop & now starts almost as easy as my daily drive Golf!
Not bad for a throttle bodied XE!
Just need to wash it again as it was p1ssing down when went for MOT then get some miles on the old girl. Cant wait.
Loving the popping on overun :)
:-) happy days.. just like u say about the weather, lol
Hi,
Yesterday took the Nova for its first proper drive in a year & a half :)
There was a rolling road day at Shrewsbury about 20 miles from where i live & few mates taking there cars up for a run out so tagged along in the Nova.
Steady drive up there down some 'bumby' B roads with my mate in his Integra Type R, then met up with another mate in his Supercharged Golf VR6.

Hung around for hour or so, quite alot of interest in old Nova which was nice.
Watched an Astra GSI Turbo on rollers do 371bhp.........Then break :(
Then drove back, but this time dual caridgeway and a little more 'spirited!'
Nova seemed to run okay for its first outing. Smoking abit, not an oily smoke so maybe overfueling, so something to look into later. Getting some flames apparently out of exhaust, so maybe unburnt fuel causing some smoke when giving it a little.
Forgotten after so long how much fun it was to take out, so its nice to have the old girl back!
Mate did record a bit on his phone & posted it on the tube!

Looking ace mate. In good company & Novas really do cause quite a bit of interest when you roll about town in them.
Just watched the vid, that Golf sounds lovely, looks rapid too. You have epic negative camber on your fr wheels by the looks of it to.
