that is a bit off a prob though lol
Each time i read this thread im amazed as to how perfection can just get better and better!!
I love the cav turbo rims, I would like a set for my nova but I don't think they quite suit it 100%. N agree the ronalds would be to much of an obvious choice.
N yes benn there's quite a few nights I've came in from work n havnt been arsed to go in the garage, then thought of yourself n dragged my ass out there, seriously.
I cant stop dribling !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tbh they are way to common for me now.Quote:

Not a new thing, a mate did this to his mk1 golf 10 years ago. He knew someone at Pilkington glass, who made a new rear screen for him lol.Quote:

split hose within breather dept...?
Nope all ok, it started off when just cold. It would hold back and bog down then clear. Nows its become a full on running on 2 wont rev or idle.
Coil or coil amp, also check leads at plug end, mine get oil on when topping up , Ialso had a prob with the connector at the bottom of the throttle body I have to wiggle it sometimes
Coil changed with my 2 spares, changed leads and changed to new leads, new plugs with gap checked
new dizzy cap and arm, new cts.
its cos its crying out for an f28 and p2 chips.
seriously tho, hope you get it sorted.
It probably be a sensor?
Youve changed the whole ignition system.
Like what Paul? I've unplugged the hall and afm to no change...
Doing a compression test to night on it as a just in case.
Si, f28 in garage and ph2 well maybe.
Have you checked the CTS wiring?
would the CTS cause any faults though? Apart from running on choke all the time?
Ben, coil got a good earth? I know you and your shiny painting n that, but try borring a coil?
One here if needed, but im a tad far lol
Also, have you checked all the loom for continuity? Megger check between the wires, to check its not rubbed through?

Misfire i hear you say !!!!!!! pics or it didnt happen !!!!!!!! lol great to meet you again and thanks for the pics of myself !!!!!!!!!!!! dam im the man!lol
id say try afm meter they cause all manor of problems when faulty, even try a mates if you have one with a let to see if it cures it to see if cures it
Kinda a few weeks ago i moved it in the arch.Quote:

Have tried my two other coils, both the same. I've checked alot of the loom everything looks ok, cant see any parts where the outer covering is damaged. But i'll have a look again.Quote:

That can't be right surely? Mine wont run at all with it unplugged. Strange!
Tht makes me believe even more then benn that the the signal for the afm is earthing through the shroud or something tricking the ecu.
It doesn't have to be so bad that it doesn't run, it is degenerative the filament due to being heated etc the filament will have a shelf life so to speak
all it needs Is some dirt on the hot wire filament, high resistance etc it could still function OK, but not be operating as efficiently as it could be if that makes sense
Had the AFM come up with a code on the XEV. Dipped the filament into some alcohol/spirit to give it a clean and it was absolutely fine there after. Have sensor wiring grounding itself againstr the block can cause all sorts of ghosts too.
Just need to check over everything dude.
ICV ok?

Just to add to the above benn my XE stops running immediatly as soon as the afms unplugged!!!!
Hhmmm odd, A friends GTE runs fine just a bit rough with it unplugged.
Waiting on a compression test to rule that out/see if its that.
Hopefully it's not internal, but then again a perfectly justifiable reason to rebuild it :d (if you can afford it)
It needs a rebuild anyway, but was hoping i could do that over the winder months. Wanted to get an least 2more months use.
Hopefully it's not that then.
I just have no clue as to what it could be.
Bummer on the bad running. A mates LET Corsa had something similar last year and he had a dodgy afm and it was missing like hell, also if unplugged it cut out. Actually though the problem we found out later was a very small hole in the pipe that lead upto his turbo.
Did you do a compression test then? Sorry if I've missed it I'm tired lol
