Stripped the wings off to give the car a good clean, as the paint under them hasn't really been touched since late last summer, so want to check everything and give it a good coat of wax.
Bit dirty.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9121.jpg
Really just tidying things up as i clean, few jobs here and there.. Did like seeing the water return pipe.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9117.jpg
So re ran it under the slam, above the headlight.. Nicer in my eyes.
Headlight wiring is bit untidy too, so i've started heat shrinking it up, wil help keeping it out the way too.
While the wings are off all the chrome bolts are being re painted.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9129.jpg
As well are the bonnet lifters, which have patches of rust comming thru..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9127.jpg
Sanded off,
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9126.jpg
Painted in bumper grey.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9128.jpg
Bought my bumper home from the bodyshop to get all flatted off ready to paint on Monday.

Sure by the time i'm at Billing i'll have a stone chip...
Been building a nice collecting of parts...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...n/IMG_9122.jpg
New pads and one got cv grease in and is funked.. £50 down the drain there.. New disc needed too. New Rs turbo plugs and leads. Oh and a nice number plate with no crap on it.. Thinking of maybe giving it a light tint as nothing on the rear of the car is yellow so stands out.. Thoughts?
Black and silver show plates FTW! :thumb::dQuote:

The RS turbo plugs we told you about are gen FORD ones mate. Not NGK's.
Nice work Benn, my bonnet lifters have started getting some rust at the tops, need to sort them too.
is that a vectra st wheel i spot next to the bumper, i need one lol
Yes yes, wont ditch them tho, nice spec and hate bonnet stays, they look so messy. Plug i wanted to try out first, when i started it earlier it seemed better. But wanna start it early in the morning so its still proper cold to test it. If it fixes it then i'll look in to Ford Plugs. You'll be happy to know i gapped them too..lol And posted you a box of goodies on Friday.Quote:

i have a bent one too so need another :(
Why a spacer? Touching the leg?
Nice work dude..... when it comes to subtlety the wing bolts tone down the bay a hell of a lot when they arent chrome/zinc hence why I kept mine painted. Never got on with bonnet lifters as they seemed to alter the bonnet gap with nova hinges being so weak... Lastly Ill leave you with this........ ;)

Nick.
if your not on coilovers on the front you havent got a hope in hells chance, the wheel hit on my gaz coilovers hense the reason for the spacer. pics in my thread :thumb:Quote:

Found i had a CV boot gone a month back, then at the mot noticed a bronze patch on my disc and the tester said it was pulling to that side a bit.. Tried cleaning the pad and disc. But CV grease had got in there good style and killed both. So fitted new M1144 Mintex pads and a new disc..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...llingprep4.jpg
Hhmmm must have a stiff chassis... lol

Car back on the ground, had to pump this tyre up as the slim line alloy jack wouldn't come out from under the sill... lol
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...lingprep12.jpg
Flatted the primer on my bumper off, flatted my boot grab off as it fot damaged when the boot opened in the garage..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...illingprep.jpg
I do like them, but i'd need to be back on 4stud, well i haven't seen a spacer/convo plate to do 5stud to 5stud 130pcd.
Ah yes i have Gaz coilovers on mine too.. Bugger.Quote:

My mate had ro close on the door..
John, yeah go on.. See you there..
Door cards are done :)
Am doing a bit more leather wrapping at the mo.. Its getting really hard!
Whats getting really hard Benn? ;)
Wrapping the boot strut. Wont stick. Is gonna be a c**t to sew up, but looks like the only way to do it.
The mirror bases have always annoyed me, they are plastic finish. But its a crap finish, wax doesn't bring them up nor does trim gel... So i've painted them in bumper grey...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...rrorbases2.jpg
Mucho better.
