All you need now is a smurf dangling from your towing eye on the back lol
I going to try and set mine up today which the same tool, and remember you have done yours, but looking at those pics, isn't that first reading -1.25/-1.3 degrees? And the second one about -1.75degrees? I'd assume the measurement would be the middle of the bubble like a spirit level?
Hey Mazz. So if you look on the underside of the tool you've got the adjustment dial which you use to 'zero' the tool on a vertical surface. I zeroed the tool with the 'positive edge' of the bubble reading 0 (towards the neg side), so all my readings are from the 'positive edge' of the bubble. This is a bit more accurate than guessing the middle of the bubble each time as you can line the edge up with the marked lines.
Well after a page of mocking here's some more mods to potentially dislike!
Satin black sunstrip as the old one was looking tatty and badly fitted:

Then off with the rear bumper for a plan I discussed a while ago when painting the bumpers. Still looking fresh under there:

Hack hack hack lol

No more mk2 parachute effect, woop!

Doesn't look too in your face from the back/top really:

Also been mocking these up every couple of days, swaying towards fitting them as my sills are taking a battering and I like the way they box the rear wheels in slightly?!

the skirts complete the car mate looks the mutts nuts
Nowt to dislike for me.
Sunstrip - needed (IMO)
Rear bumper - fair point parachutes slow you down.
Side Skirts - Stop mocking them up, and get them on.
Just looking into ways of attaching without holes...
I have just fitted skirts to one side of mine. Check out my build thread...
Also taken many measurements so i can start a thread in articles to help with the fitting.
Liking the bumper mod.
Looks good! The things you have done are spot on!
Liking the plug cover!
Just fit the skirts with the proper clips.
Drill tiny holes, self tapper with some silicon on thread, cover said screw over with silicon to stop rust.
Mine had no rust after well over a year. Which is saying something for a nova.
def fit the skirts :thumb:
plug cover n bumper looks sweeeeeeeeeet to :)
Bumper mod is not complete without doing away with the wheel well though
Nice job on the bumper, it's something i should really do. I would say paint the wheel well black so it does stand out so much.
Yeah someone else suggested that, kind of pointless having the whole underside white/body coloured if you just paint the bits on show black though lol
If I don't decide to remove the well (looking into it at the moment) then it can stay white, I'm not too bothered!
Will look like its pants have fallen down to show it's **** crack...
lol
very much liking mate :)
Take the spare wheel well out and knock up a flat floor panel and rear diffuser. Should be a simple job for a man of your skills.
Hmmmmmmmm still unsure about the wheel well. I hate doing stuff like this when it's been painted though :(
You do get to cut the rear panel a bit higher so I'd have to lop yet more out of the bumper:

would give you something to do to it over the winter months when trackdays arnt going on as much
Yeah it's worth doing imo, if you can get it started from and inline with the floorpan it gives you a chance to space frame where the fuel tank used to be, if you're not running it there.
Although the trade off is a marked weight gain, it is where you want it. The other down side is the drag low pressure makes; I found going under the beam means a proportion of the flow, along the exhaust tunnel pushes down on the top of the diffuser and out the sides rather than under, up and out.
Still running a fuel tank so if I were to do it it'd simply be to remove the well itself.
Humm where did that bumper idea come form??
lol looks alright!
me. we were discussing all this last year
like i was saying. strap the beam, run an ally plate over the whole of the back of it. obviously you cant totally flat bottom it entirely but its a good start.
Calm down Karl, and i think you should ask Iain, as we were talking about doing this well over a year ago too! as i was going to do it on my old track car.
calm down lads i gave him the idea.
You can wind your fing neck in too! lol
think your find me and ernie were first:p
lollollollollol
my dads bigger than your dad hahahaha
Think you'll find your AN IDIOT! fact! lolQuote:

Liking the videos Iain - would be even better if we could see your movements as the driver... great catch on the slide on Redgate - great feeling isn't it, makes one push harder!
Do you have a cage mount for your camera? or is there a reason you have it screen mounted?
take care, keep up the good work!
Was my idea, I even did pretty pictures
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...0project/5.jpg
I've just done exactly that on the busa lol
You put a diffuser on a bike :s :p
It was Burgos idea back in 1983. End of discussion.
Cheers! It's a proper cage mount yeah (Manfrotto double joint thing) but the camera seems to screw up when mounted behind me - very dark inside and too bright white outside - rendering it unwatchable. I'd love to capture some behind-driver footage but I haven't worked out a way to do so yet without buying a new camera :(
I have an idea - let me know when you're doing a track day next, I'll bring my GoPro HD Hero2 to sling in your car, whilst I do some photography of you whizzing around the circuit...
Hows that sound? That said, if its appealing, I may well book on the track with you - so you can have some external footage of your car whilst I'm behind you trying to keep up!
Next one I'm booked on for is Rockingham on the 20th :) Feel free to pop along!
Trying to keep up lol Sure sure.
Would be very rude for me not to pop over to rockingam
