Thanks for the links mate. Don't like them Polo wheels. The 2nd link is good but 7j and 35ET is gonna rub like a fat birds inner thighs lol
Looks like I'm still on the search for some wheels but I'm really feeling the BBS split rim wheel designs.

Main reason to find wheels before bodyshop work comences! I think you will be looking for a long time to find anything like this that will go straight on with no work after you've had the car painted. I have hunted to death for some but theyre all 7J wide + and not ET compatable. The easiest, quickest and only real solution for this type of work will be to send the car back for more paint and have them adjust the arches to fit around the wheels. Something I can't see happening.
Like I say I have spent years looking for a BBS style rim in 16" to go straight on a Nova
Have had the arches rolled all the way literally flat. I want to maintain the Nova's current handling, the wheels are ET42 so don't want to go any further away from the magic 49. So any wheels needing huge work or silly offsets I wont get and I've said that from the start. As a style though, that's what I'm looking for. Tis a shame but that's life.

closest you'll get!
Cheers for the link fella, but that offset isn't for me. The search will continue for something else.
Current wheels are 6.5j ET42 and easily fit under the new arches, so I got a benchmark at least. Hey ho, I shall search for other nice wheels.
UPDATE
I was hoping to put up a pretty meaty update as it's been a while but unfortunately this isn't one.
Had a few days off but the freezing cold really didn't motivate me to do anything. As today was much milder I popped in the garage to see what's gwaanin'.
First was to put back the wiring for the wiper stalk and boot popper to how they were as I had reverted the wiring back to factory due to an earth problem. I then tidied up my boot and rearranged things so I could get some more bits in there. I also realised that I made a silly mistake when wiring up the boot popper. Rather then just picking an earth in the boot I extended 3 metres of wire just to earth it somewhere else. I cut down the wire and earthed it to the boot.
Still haven't been able to figure out which earth is messing me about and operating the rear wiper when I use the headlamps, indicators, fan blower, high beam etc.
Here's a pic of the plug cover I got recently

Maybe my next update will be more interesting.
There is a similar type rim to the Polo GTI ones fitted to the BMW Mini which are four stud(4x100). They are 17" and are a Nova friendly offset of ET45.Quote:
