Yeah, basically the only wires in my bay with the gotech will be injectors/crank sensor/tps/air & water temp/coilpacks.
This ecu has also got launch control too, which might be handy for pod
ooh, some grown-up features then.. doesnt that need sensors placing by the front wheels..?
Nope, it just limits your revs/ignition advance so you can have the throttle floored but the engine will just sit at whatever rpm you set it too. Kind of like a 2nd rev limiter..
Probably make some 'wikid pops and bangs too lol
Your thinking of traction control ;)
oh right yeah.. well u might need that too with ur big block
you wont need let injectors xe creams or blues will do blues have a better spray pattern, olly hweitt saw 197 on creams
Yup but i think he was running 4.5bar fuel pressure, i dont want to run pressure that high. So dropping it down to 2.5/3bar and running let yellows.
im sure you will have problems using them but best of luck, all the best trying to get the gotech to work only person who can map it is jamie going, its shocking to use even more so than my emerald, when you get it mapped take it to jamsport i wouldnt trust anybody else with it!Quote:

The only thing is im not 100% sure the new software works with the older ecu...
Well done Ad, my mates just got GO tech o for him mk1 escort, and he's going to Jam sport to get it all set on his AT power TB's, i wish you the best of luck with it all dude, i have no idea what the go tech stuffs like?
Scott
i dont think it will mate tbh the newer software is for the prox and mini x i think, i could be wrong. best of just letting jamie sort it alot less hassle!a friend ahd issues getting the std gm sensors to work with the pro x in the end he sold ecu got another ecu and worked fine, jamie gets them to work and well :)Quote:

Also noticed that the clutch cable had nearly rubbed THROUGH the inlet!! Its worn a few mm out the back of the inlet, so i'll be fitting a new cable too.

They fit spot on! Not sure whether bothering removing the firewall because i think the trumpets sit lower than the level of the firewall, so even with it gone longer trumpets will hit it...
How much clearance ive got
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...P/364cab3e.jpg
They are quite "blingy" so make the rest of the engine/bay look shonky! lol
I've got a new rocker cover etc to go on though to tidy it up.
More tomorrow, hoping to get the bodies properly bolted up, and do a bit of work on the ecu loom (got to fit new CTS plugs etc)
That is all for now :d
knowing how much they cost fills me with a slight sense of hatred, nothing personal mind lol Look awesome
Dude that look frigging sexy!
top stuff ad! You got everything to make it run now?
lovely. top stuff
looking good adam!
It's great how much room TBs and stuff free up in the bay, looking good Mr Ad, proper nice day to be tinkering wasnt it!
I just need a pressure regulator and gauge, apart from that yeah.Quote:

Ok, its easy to do things on, but its just not friendly(you cant use a mouse etc) It is quite simple though, hoping get it running on the map thats already on there.
Im using cream injectors for now too(as ive got them lying about), will check see what the ecu gives the duty cycle at.
Does anyone know how low i can cut the firewall down? Theres like a seam with spot welds on, you can see in my pics, can i only go down to the top of the seam? Or can i grind down flush with the battery tray? If you get me :)
I said exactly the same thing!Quote:

Makes working on the inlet side of the engine so much easier.
And yeah, it was 8.5deg  (scorcher lol )
You can cut below the spot welds so it's flush with the tray. I think it's just the tray that flicks up that is spot welded to the firewall so it's not needed.
Cool, im binning the firewall then as that means i can run longer trumpets.
bling bling ;)
they look's ace fella, nova will be a right slag with them fitted, and engine mapped
ill be watching your firewall removal bit with interest.. thanks for today too ad.
No probs mate, keep us updated :)
Put that pic in your thread btw
Good stuff Ad :)
Cheers Mike :)
I have an fse afpr here if its any use Ad?
Im *almost* tempted to build a T/B'd GTE track car rather then buy something completly lairy instead. Was talking to Lee about it earlier lolQuote:

Firewall is now removed, was a bit of a difficult job because i couldnt remove the front strut brace, so had to saw some parts of the firewall and get the grinder on the rest. lol
Suprising how much bigger it makes the bay look.
Now i cant fit the watershield over the heater blower motor am i going need drill a few holes in the blower surround to stop water collecting in it?
Pics later
Looks good mate, the old dealer tune is annoying, you can use the new one to change the map, but not live on the car :(
I will be removing the firewall on mine (when I start work on it) lol
Yes i've had to do this on mine. In the cup like bits drill them at the front.Quote:

It does look a bit "shonky" tbh, but nevermind, it should let a shed load of cold air that gets forced through the scuttle panel into the tb intake.... :d
Also had a look at the internal shifter
i cut down my astra shifter to remove the kink, it needs the end welding back on now, but its wayy to short, so im going cut the nova one and join them together.
The cav/cally shifters have the kink in a different place.....
Getting busy with the grinder tomorrow to remove the centre console support panel

More tomorrow if i aint hungover lol
Good work. Function over form dude.
