Impressive driving :)
Nice lap, looks a little 'on the edge' a few time though, what tyres/springs you using now?
Still got those Avon ACB10 semi slicks. They're crossply tyres - I've been doing some reading and I don't think they like much if any camber, which hopefully explains why it felt 'on the edge' during corners and was pulling heavily to one side on the straights.
I'm reverting my camber back to what they were before camber bolts now, I'll revisit those changes when I move to radial semi slicks.
Was it on -1.5 degree?
Yep.
when are you getting cams then? when the alignment is all perfect?
Unsure, it definitely felt a little underpowered at Donington though. Keeping my eyes out for some hydraulic-friendly ones/regrinds second hand.
I'm surprised you haven't looked into autosprint doing a regrind on yours after all the other work you had them do
Does go well out there. Drift was well handled.
The result of extracting the exhaust gases from producing 149 whopping BHP lol

Old Iain would have been on the phone to Ashley to pay full price for a new backbox, but not anymore! lol
Cleaned and prepped:

Welded around the cracks and ground down, covered the end and there's no light so no leaking:

Spare section of exhaust cut down, tapered at one end and cut in half to give it some strength:

Refitted the original bracing piece:

Job jobbed! lick of paint tomorrow and that can be refitted.
Your welding is better than theirs.
lol epic welding mate
How are the camber bolts ? I have know people having them come loose
Nice driving and videos
got to love how you grind down the welds, even tho no one will ever see them lol
Wtf guys, I ground down the first set so the sleeves would sit flush with the metal, the sleeve welds have been left alone!
You're still a tart.
well that just seems half arsed now! sort it out ian (with 2 i's)
Nice fix on the exhaust.
And top bombing on holding that drift! Would of been ace to be watching that from outside the car! lol
PMSL @ the back box snapping, would love to have seen that fly off mid corner! lol
good fix though mate.
Backbox repainted and fitted, good as new!
As mentioned a few pages back I'm sick of the coilover springs dislocating so I've sorted myself some helper springs. Thanks to Mieran who donated me some at PV show but unfortunately they're slightly too larger ID and they didn't locate well on the platforms, and the middle platform didn't fit the 2.25" springs. Thanks anyway Mieran!
So got some new 3" ones from Gaz, on with fitting the fronts. Initially I wanted them to be at the bottom so there's less chance of them moving side to side:

However after fitting them to the car, the middle platform bottomed out on the adjusting seat meaning the weight of the car would be on a plastic ring!

Ended up fitting them both at the top:

Much better:

Good reason for fitting the rears, the top platform can simply fall off when you extend the shock:

Job jobbed:

Rears could do with being 4" open length really (as I anticipated) as I've had to raise the rideheight slightly to keep them in position when on the floor. Unfortunately Gaz only do them in 3" so might have to sort some elsewhere, or just get creative with the cable ties.
i dont see how the weight of the car isn't still on the plastic ring
Well it's still on the plastic ring, but thats pressed up against the coilbound helper so essentially a solid lump. At the bottom when the spring didn't go coilbound it was pressing the locating bit against the bottom spring paltform and the bit the spring sits on would not be pressing against anything and likely snap it. Bad explanation lol
i think i know what you mean not sure it is the case but really doesnt matter so long as your happy with it and it does the intended job
Note to self, don't book a day off work and not have anything planned or stuff like this happens lol
