for the bonnet........ what about a trim panel clip and holder.drill the holder into the front cross piece of the body and f/g the trim clip into the underside of the bonnet.put a washer on aswell to make the f/g a bit easier to do.Should do the job.
Que? lol
get a trim panel clip and holder
fibre glass the clip into the underneath of the bonnet(using a washer with it to strengthen the job)
drill a small hole in the cross member across the front of the car(between the headlights) and put holder into it(maybe a bit of glue too!)
close bonnet and clip will engage into said holder and hold the bonnet down
;)
one of these or similar with a mahoosive washer on to get a good solid fix on the underside of the bonnet

and a hole drilled into the cross member for it to locate and clip into.
OR even to clip into the existing hole left from the old bonnet catch
I'm thinking that maybe wouldn't be up to the job? I understand the concept though :thumb:
Not looked at the car since last Donny day, so I must roll it out at some point and have a look at what needs to be done :)
i think youd be suprised at the strength of the clips olz.
Whatever you think though.
Remember the nut on the shaft trick???? trust me!;)
Extra pair of bonnet pins closer to the centre?
Will look **** but will be easy, cheap and quick to do...
Excellent post mate....
5th bonnet pin to save all the messing about me thinks :thumb:
Aero catches would look good

How about an E-tech wing to give some downforce on the bonnet? lol
Seconded!Quote:

Have you tried using a bit of alloy to brace the bonnet yet Olz ? surely that would do the trick
I filled the gap with fibreglass which worked until it cracked that aswell lol
I have nothing to hold the ally brace up with though?
Glue the damn thing on, arralidite (or however its spelt ) will hold anything amongst loads of other products, 5th bonnet pin will look poop, seen a few people who have braced theie bonnets, Ben being one of them as he had a similar problem
lol @ looking "poop"... great choice of words :thumb:
I'll sort it then.
Gonna cut me a new rear screen out and rivet it in, seen a trackcar with self tappers holding the rear windows in and looked utter gash, lovely sharp screws facing every which way towards you inside the car lol
Get some rivet nuts, motorsport coolness:thumb:
Should look Ok if the window is fastened in with some form of nut/rivet etc

As Ste said Rivinuts are cool - although I remember Lee303 demo ing a cool idea on Brian's Manta on Migweb - too many pages to look through to find pictures lol
Dave
Make sure you get the 'motor-sport' variety :thumb:Quote:

That seems excessive/unnecessary, why bother riveting a mount, just so that you can then use another type of fastener to mount the window :tard: Only worth doing if the window needs to be removable IMO.
I think the rear window on the silver nova looks perfect, coupled with a bead of sealant would be my choice, and may well actually be carried out on mine!
yeah I agree Oli, does seem a little over manufactuered. I wouldn't need the windows to be removable, so wouldn't want riv-nuts and bolted in, nor would I want pikey self tappers... so rivets are the way forward :thumb:
Bond it in. Windscreen bonder, job jobbed.
It has to run some sort of sealer or you will have water running in everywhere when it rains lol
They won't fall out if you use windscreen bonder though
Dzues fastners?
Agreed, rivets will only let water in.Quote:
