This is just how a thread should be, great initiative being shown, great quality workmanship, and just a great read.

I have managed to source a GSi, question is can I get it respectable enough for Billing.... Will have to park miles away from you :)
Cheers Keith I'm glad you enjoyed the read..... Id say I'm leagues behind your car yet though!
Glad your into another nova... Be good to have a wander round it and a chat. I need to speak to you about a few bits fabricating!
Nick.
So Nick when's the major modification that's the engine change happening... It kind of seems a shame to see that small block go though lol
Yeah will come and see you over the weekend, yep can sort you out any bits anytime..
Are you taking nova to billing? Dan
Theirs no timescale/date on it and I've yet to acquire some parts although I now have most.... Would be nice to have it done for next July but it depends on my own/other people's commitments so we'll see!
Cheers! Its nothing major to be fair... Will come find you for a chat over the weekend fella.
I'd like to..... But I need to get some jobs complete so I'm happy with it otherwise it won't go. Would be nice to have it their though as I'd like people to see it in more of an original state prior to its conversion etc.
Nick.
Do it, it's nice to have billing pics as a progress log too, mines evolved alot over the billing years lol
had a wonder around this before you bought it and thought it was awsome, now its even better which i thought wasnt possible.
whats the plans for conversion? c20let like the others?
Yeah.... I am hopeful all should go to plan.
Yeah It amazed me when I first came across it. I dont think Brian actually knew what he had and how good it was at the time....... Read back a few pages and all will be revealed!
Nick.
Well done Nick it's looking stunning as would be expected.
Sadly not at Billing as i'm best man at my mates wedding :(
Keep it up!
Hey guys,
So were are we up to.....
The car needed an mot before billing so whilst the wilwood setup was being fitted I had It checked over to make sure anything suspect could be sorted beforehand. It turned out all It needed was a bulb for the brake/sidelight so I sorted that and took it to work one saturday for the test. I was a bit worried as I was unsure if the lift would be low enough to get the car on and feared things being extremely awkward however It turned out I was worrying over nothing as It went on without a hitch... Bonus! It attracted a lot of attention as the guys at my new work in the service department have never seen the car before and all I heard was lovely comments which was great! It then sailed straight through the test.........

By the time I left work the weather had turned sour and the car got soaked on route home so an afternoon cleaning session was in order......
All arches cleaned and waxed up.....

Over the next few weeks I then concentrated on the engine bay getting right down into the lower corners too! Gearbox also came up well thanks to some fine wire wool.......

Also after acquiring a new Cat 1 system from Andy a few months back I had a friend of mine whos a long term security/audio specialist drop by and fit it making the car a little more secure which was good now Im using the car a lot more.
Nick.
That brings us almost up to date! With the bulk of jobs done I was happy to use the car for the coming weekend. So started loading up......

The only thing I havent had chance to do is have the tracking/wheel alignment adjusted. I know Its out but have ran out of time for now and the car drives ok so It'll have to do for now and I'll get onto It over the coming weeks. The cars still light years away from being up their with the past few but hopefully those attending this weekend will like what they see! Looking forward to seeing you all this weekend lets pray for good weather! Cheers for reading. :)
Nick.
Nick, if I were you I'd remove the brand of alarm you've fitted from the thread... they're pretty well known and the wiring manuals are quite easily available. Although they're mostly unmarked wires I wouldn't wanna make it any easier for someone to get around!
Car looks fantastic though :)
Love this motor so much, she's gleaming now Nick. :)
Stunning Nick, can't wait for a closer look this weekend.
Keith
Can't wait to have a look round this over the weekend looks the nuts when do you think you will get turbo lump in?
Me too lol.... Cheers!
Cheers Keith, be nice to see yours their?
Cheers Jake!
That pumps a beast it only takes a few mins cheers though!
Cheers.....Hopefully next years time and funds pending!
Nick.
Looks amazing mate! Carnt wait too this at billing, I'll come and say hi
What a temptation to leave it totally standard but pristine. Is it a 4 speed box? It's been years since I drove one of them. Lol
Gorgeous! Looking forward to seeing this at the weekend ;)
The air flow on the bonnet is not match to a Nova imo, but the other's are awesome! I really like the original (as possible) parts are "shining" (including the not swapped, original engine). Great work!
Awesome as usual nick bloody lovely car can't wait till its done :)
That really is summat else.
Amazing work Nick,well done.
Nova is looking sweet. Cant wait to see it.
Completely stunning Nick, i suspect its only going to get better as well
I must make Billing one year to have a look in person

Edd
Sooo shiny and lovely stance to it, look forward to seeing it
Cheers fella!
Original engine won't be their for much longer lol....
Thanks mate!
Cheers Andy and thanks again for the cat 1.
Cigar now loaded lol..
Cheers Edd, you know in all honesty I completely forgot about them! My intention is to remove them at some point or source front surrounds to match but I think I'd rather just remove the rears. We'll see.....
Cheers Iain!
Nick.
