Yeah, it's amazing what you find when you look, and in some cases how cheap you can find them! I'm looking forward to building it up now as I have most of the bits I need and all brand new
Thanks :)
Thanks, did you get my pm?

No I didn't mate, PM me again :thumb:
If the tool box doesn't get used I may be interested, would look good in the sr and with the boot trim I got from yellowsrnova it still has the holes in it from the retaining strap!
More purchases....
Brand new headlight mounting rings, these only game mounted to the lights and weren't available (to my knowledge) separate so when the lights corrode you need to replace them, but they usually crack when you try to split them. My outer lights were past their best so I got some more cibie units ages ago but had no way to mount them. I managed to find a guy on the continent who'd had a small batch remade for himself and his friends and a little bit of negotiation later I had enough sent over to redo the 2 sets of lights I have in the garage....

Next delivery was this retrimmed Irmsher steering wheel, it had been listed on eBay and didn't sell, I messaged the guy and he agreed to sell me it, so a cheeky offer later and it was mine! It's been stitched with white stitching which isn't original but I think it'll worth well with the white car?

Thought they had normal headlights?
Nope Irmscher twin headlights as per.....

Ah, good buy then.
Nice one mark, I really like the steering wheel !
Iain
Nice purchases there mate.
ive got two irmscher grills and headlamp sets with the spider. one set of lamps are lhd and the other rhd i think. also got a irmscher front bumper in my spares for it too. ill have to check the rings on my lamps to see what they are like
You can split the old rings Elgan. The lamps are just normal Cibie units which you can get from Demon Thieves etc, 5.25" I think they are. Split the rings with a thin sharp knife and re-glue them on the new lamps. I am going to replace the adjusters on mine with stainless bolts to stop them corroding :thumb:
Looking good Mark :)
That steering wheel will look perfect IMO, what's it originally off then?
It was from a manta but my very first spider had one and was available from irmscher uk as an option

They're aren't bad value
Good choise of the steering wheel! :thumb:
Although the car is still on Isle of Man plates it will be registered on UK plates when done, after speaking to dvla it looks like I'll be ok to have it registered onto the original plate. I managed to find a guy who had an original Steve thomsons cars plate on his car and he sent me all the measurements. I managed to then find a company to recreate them for me along with the rear window sticker..

Small update, managed to pick these up at the weekend, brand new light units, I had some brand new inners but the outers are mega rare. You can buy the lenses from demon tweaks but when these came up I though why not! Bought them with a twin headlight grill, took the lights from the kit, replaced them with my secondhand lights and sold the kit back on for what I paid, one happy man has twin headlights and knows what I paid etc, one happy man has new lights for free!!

Good bit of business there Mark lol
Cheers mark. Am well pleased..
Very good deal done there for both of you lads lol
Small update.....
The Spider has gone for the floor work to be done finally by my mate Steve who's been on the Vauxhall scene for years so knows what's needed. He's built a few Viva's with V8s, a Chevette HSR, Firenza HP and a Bedford CF daily driver with a Carlton GSI 6 pot lump in it!!
Car out the garage for the first time in about 6 years...

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psaaf7cab4.jpg
ready for work
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...ps1a0fb8a7.jpg
then set about cutting the rot and bad repairs out
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...ps35caa07e.jpg
As much original metal has been left as possible, and the floor numbers have been left untouched
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psdceab6a2.jpg
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...ps4d235d9c.jpg
The near side has been left untouched for now so that the box sections can be used as a reference
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...ps014155b6.jpg
The footwell has a area that is double skinned and when the strengthening has been cut out it would seem that when the box section is put in that as well as the sections that run front to back haven't been under sealed and have caused rot on the floor that is visable, the front section has burnt through the floor and into this section so again it's been all cut out. The section from the shell I cut up is spotless though so replacing isn't a problem.
Nice view of Steve's foot!! Also shows how little rust prevention is on the inside of the out riggers on the floor.

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psc49cad5c.jpg
Also cut outa section of the box section that goes side to to get into the rear seam that all Nova's seem to go on.
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...ps2bf38573.jpg
Then the fun part! Filling the holes
Front floor section is tacked in place and lined up
