absolutly stunning project, that is one clean shell and i cant wait to see it in jamiaca yellow and see what wheels you decide to choose.

the boot popper handle is just genius, and so is the brake lines nailed on the wall Lol.

how much was that tool from halfords which you used to take the paint off the boot?

Yeah I was just saying to Dougie, I think this is going to be possibly my fave Nova in '08 :) I know there are going to be a lot of nice ones around, but I've got super good feelings about this one.G ood luck sir ;)

Me too, I'm getting a bit nervous as too how long it's going to take to get painted. Project No. 2 arrives at the end of April.

Alright there, how's the painting going mate? also i no it might be a bit late after you've done all that work on the 1L engine, but what i was gonna say is that i've got a spare 1.4 that you could have had, pm me if your interested, it's got all the ancillaries and gbox etc etc.

Not a huge amount has happened, went down this morning to see the car and take a few pics.

The car now takes pride of place within the paint booth as the TR7 that was in front of it in the queue is almost finished.

My GTE front seats are now at the upholsterers to get re-trimmed in the grey tweed to match the back seats. The headrest holes are being covered over as I'm ditching the headrests. The seats should be ready by the end of January.

He's got a 1980 Porsche 911 booked in for the back end of January, so I'm hoping it'll be done before then. He anticipates having the engine bay done within the next few days. I'll try and pop down for pics as much as I can without being a nuisance.

Cheers for the offer, but sticking with the 1.0 OHV engine for the time being.

It's being painted by Graham McCabe of Automotive in Grangemouth, he's right into his classic cars. Lucky bugger even owned a Chevette HSV once.

HSR? or HS? either way totally awesome car, i'd love a redtop chevette with the HSR wide arch kit. :thumb:

Colour looks good, looks like you might be the only jamaica yellow nova owner on here soon shaun, looking forward to seeing it painted.

I think it was just the HS, don't know where I got HSV from :tard:

I am re-fitting the stereo blanking plate that you can see in this photo.

So will be re-locating the head unit to the glove box, so a little trimming in MDF is required.

^ and especially with an alpine, I found they run much hotter than anything else..

Always nice to get some new tools, rachet spanners are probably the most useful tool(s) i've bought so far.

Thats amazing! Think i might have to put mine in the glovebox seeing as my decent alpine got nicked! But its whether i have the balls to ruin my gsi glovebox, perhaps you should start making some for people on here ill pay good money!:)

Ok, it's just the engine bay and boot lip, but it's a start. Hopefully have the shell painted this time next week.

The valance has just had a guide coat to highlight any imperfections, but all is ok so it'll get flatted and painted again.

The inside isn't being painted as apart from the doors, there will be not metal exposed.
