Coming along nicely now for your 1st project. The other dudes are right though you do need to sort the fillering out but on the other hand id put money on other people commenting on this thread making a dogs dinner aswell!
Finished off the rear now on the passenger side really pleased with it...

If i paint the drums black won't they just look dirty all the time because of dust?
And what's wrong with the tires on it atm.
Matt black will show the dirt less than red will, they just wont draw attention.
As for the tyres, they look like budget ones, so I dont imagine they'd be much fun in the wet, and the last thing you probably want to do after getting the car as you want is to see it at the bottom of a ditch or wrapped around a tree.
They came on the wheels when i got them... and they are only 14's so how much am i talking for some decent ones .. pointless going low profile on 14??
You can get 185/60R14 Goodyear excellence's around here for ?42 a corner fitted, I have them on the rear and they're great. You need to be running the 5J version of the 3 spokes though (take the centre cap off and its written in there).
The 5J version what's that mean?
That the wheels are 5 inches wide, there are 4.5 inch versions of the 3-spokes. 185mm is still fairly wide for a 5j wheel. (185mm tread width on a wheel 127mm wide lol, but I have no problems with mine.)
Excellence's are the replacements for Eagle F1's.

They're about the only truly decent wet tyre that you'll find in a 14" size.
Reet i'll go check now off to the garage i pop.
Yup got um ...
So say in a week or something or when i pass my test if i want to get some do i just PM you asking how to get these or do i just go to a dealer and say i want these in this size on these rims?
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...w/DSC01514.jpg
go to www.yell.com, find tyre fitters, ring around asking for prices on 185/60R14 Goodyear excellences including fitting, new valves and balancing, then take the cheapest, or best word of mouth reccomendation.
Never, ever go to kwikfit, unless you're desperate to get a puncture repaired on a sunday.
Lol..!! ok
Will wait till got more money... gotta think about insurance 1st and test lol.
It's now in primer ... just waiting for it to harden so i can wet and dry a bit more then spray it up.
looks great m8 but keep it suttle on the bodywork and dont go to mad and then dump a 20 8v in it
Passed me test today so thought i would finish off the other arch thingy so here it is ... just needs t-cutting and polishing up ... that goes for the whole car aswell...

Looking good mate - Should be tidy once its on the road etc :)
Aye !!!
(((WHEN))) It's on the rd lol ...
Lee H nicely came up tonight to fit my springs but only got around to doing the rears in the dark so the fronts will be done when i can find a swan neck spanner.
Just needs some time to settle cos' they was new.
Only pic i got cos' i forgot to take any lol.
This was how high it was today...
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...w/DSC01533.jpg
And this is how low it was strate after fitting and putting car in garage.

Will get better pics tomorrow. Thanks again Lee H
looking good
Will look better when i get outdoor daytime pics... Thanks.
i trust you were watching and asking questions so you know how to do it next time?
Aye he let me do some of the work like taking the wheels off undoing the bolts at end of shocks.putting the springs in place etc... prob did a side each TBH.
The rears wasn't too bad but the fronts seem hard lol.
thatll kill your shocks lol, looks minted tho
Front isn't that hard lol I did mine and I didn't have a clue
Should look good once its out and settled - I'd go for some uprated shocks though
Shocks will be fine if its only 40mm or so
Fronts aren't difficult, just more involved than doing the rears :thumb:Quote:
