hi mate did u change the oil pump with the engine in ive got to do mine just wondering what it was like to do in sit-u got the same problem relief valve sticking
Yes mate, engine was in when i changed the pump. The cambelt, bottom pully, sump and oil pick up need to be removed to get at the oil pump. Wasn't as bad as thought it was going to be.
Have you got a oil pressure guage fitted? If not its definatly worth getting.
looks good matey!! dont usually like wide kits and stuff but looks good definately beter without the sterio and all that crap though i hate instals with a pasion weighs to much!! i dont even like having sterios in my car nice panel to blank the hole in tha dash!!!
yeah i have a pressure gauge fitted and a nylon relief valve in the pump it is a new pump (genuine from vauxhall) but it still sticks only when left for weeks though.shame really as the engine has just been dynoed/optimised and verniers have been dialed in .i know u can mark them up but it is'nt as accurate as having it optimised on a dyno
Big news of your Nova m8. I want your boot install to my Cav :)
I'm going to upgrade my topic with new pics soon.
Cheers
Long time no update, Mainly due to me being lazy and not doing much to it over the last few months.
Finally got around to getting it on the rolling road on saturday, wasn't quite sure what to expect figure wise as i knew the actuator was a bit week and its only holding 10 psi at the mo but ended up happy never the less.
It ran 233.4 bhp which isn't bad for a starting figure, will give me something to improve on over the coming months.
The fuel pressure could do with upping a bit as its a bit low, will be looking into an uprated pump and maybe an adjustable fuel pressure reg.
Anywho time for some pic whoring :thumb:

Mine... Hmm, 1.4 16v was fitted with endless problems. Pulled it out to sort a few probs and then its the pain of putting it back in during the week.
I take it yours has been running fine without problems? You been using it daily (read only when the suns out? lol)
Its all fun and games eh! lol
Mines been behaving recently, haven't had anymore fault code problems since i changed the dizzy.
Although i did have a slight altercation with a cat on the way to work last month..... Made a mess of the bumper so had to get that re-painted. Getting low on the flakes now, should invest in some more.
only just seen this thread, thought the arches looked wider when i saw it saterday!
pretty neat looking car, few things id change if it was mine, but nice :thumb:
Kev, long time i don't see any updates on your Nova, which means that i've been away from the scene :)
I suggest we meet again in Bishop's Stortford or somewhere else (note: i've sold the Cav i had in November....:D ) to see the improvements and talk about the scene and cars in general.I'll be there after the next 28th April.
Though i'd post another quick update......
Im currently well in to an all-nighter on the nova, getting it ready for its Total vauxhall photo shoot later today........ Its not looking good, i've run out of redbull..... not much milk left so no tea either
Apart from the lack of a decent beverage its going quite well lol With any luck ill be finished by 6 and it'll have stopped pissing it down with rain.
Bit late, but best of luck and I hope they do a wicked job shooting your car !!
+REP
I'd like to be present for the photosoot for TV, m8.
Cheers
really nice mate
