sorry to hear about the wee car :( i worked for a bodyshop years ago when the owner took again a customers nova sri home without permission and lost control of it and killed it by going through a billboard, he took full responsability and replaced the car for the customer, not exactly like for like but a mint condition mk2 golf gti
not something the customer expected, one minutes hes supplying new panels to have the car restored and next hes selling the bits as the cars destroyed

Hi all, First of all sorry to hear about the damage, It looks a great car and hope you can get it sorted.
I have a couple of quick questions to ask.
1. Did the car actually make it to the MOT station? If so did it pass or have any advisories? The reason i ask is it will have the mileage printed on the paperwork pass or fail, if its a mile down the road from the garage but the clock reads more you know it was driven further than required and helps to prove they were joy riding it. The paperwork is printed after all break tests are done so they cant blame extra miles for use on the rollers.

Interesting read as his ex wife was in court the day previous to the mot for criminal damage to a car on the forecourt (if this is indeed the centre involved)
f*cking w*nkers another sr dead!! i hope you sue that garage dude
That article doesnt mention the date when she caused the damage? The article is the same date though as the Nova was damaged.
Do you want me to do some digging with a friend of mine in the South Wales press ;)
I haven't spoken to my friend yet but I have got the South Wales Post already looking at this thread :) :)
Good to see everyone appreciating the nova! (from someone who has both a beetle and a nova!)
Yeah but then if you look at it another way, it is just a nova, but because we're the nova enthusiasts it's more than just a nova to us, not poking abuse at Edd here but to use him as an example, he doesnt like fords and to him, for example a mk1 fiesta supersport, is just a **** fiesta!
But to the ford boys it's certainly not as they're the fiesta enthusiasts!
It's each to their own, i can fortunately appreciate pretty much all cars (with a few exceptions) but remember boys and girls, they will be reading this aswell, so if they want to say 'meh, its just an old scrapper' then let them be and if you dont like the cars their forum is about, just take the moral high ground and type nothing, but think it to yourself please :p
true spud :thumb:
i own a boat :)
This. Gotta lol lol at others narrow minded'ness though..... Might just be a Nova, or a farking Ferrari... the point is that its some poor funkers car that they've had to pay for one way or another regardless of what it is.
I mean to me Beetles are just old tin pot scrappers anyway, but the fact remains the same... some (arguably stupid lol) sole has had to work damn hard to pay well over the odds for a piece of weight bridge furniture so its more then "Just a shonky old Beetle" so to speak.
I like mk1 fiesta supersports
I own 2 beetles and you are right lol
Anyway lets get back on topic. Any news on where we are with thsi car and this garage?
and i just checked a beetle appears to be easyer to replace then a nova, nearly 100 of them on ebay compared to the 30 odd novas :P
As above, behave please mr jolt, or ill give you the night off :p
spud have spoken every one hide......................
SECOND TRY
lets get back on topic lol
Hi guys,
Another new sign-up, I spotted this on M3cutters.
I read the entire thread on my phone, hoping to hear some news and feedback from the OP. It took me until about page 12 before I realised this was in Swansea (local to me.)
I don't know much about the garage in question, I'd heard of it before this thread but couldn't have told anybody where it was. So I looked it up after hearing about this.
To the OP. I don't know how much luck you've got with the garage or neighbouring companies regarding CCTV. But I had to sign up to let you know this:-
I have very close contacts with the two men who own the two garage lots next to Town Tyres (for people who don't know where this is, it's a couple of hundred yards down the road from the garage who wrecked this car) I am not on personal terms with town tyres but both these people are.
If you are struggling to get anywhere, or haven't had any luck. Let me know if you want me to get you some personal contact details for the people who own the allotments mentioned. You may be aware that they are currently not being used but one of them has not been deserted yet as he is moving all his gear to Fabian Way so has been at the garage most days.
PM or email me, I have allowed users to email me, if you want me to try and help out in anyway I can.
This thread has gone pointless now... It's gone viral and thousands of people from forums are viewing this and could offer so much help into going in the right direction. Yet OP has hardly kept everyone updated.
Understandably he's fighting his case with the garage and trying to get it sorted but ffs please keep us updated...
TJ has more posts in this thread than OP lol
I think he should have explored the CCTV avenue days ago before any evidence is erased. If it has not been done already it needs to be done urgently
Personally I think the thread should be closed and when the OP decides he wants it reopening he should contact Admin.
Points have been made, options and opinions are just getting repeated.
This thread is rapidly going no where :(
Where is the OP. If you are working behind the scenes at least tell us that and then we can check back less frequently.
As previously stated, it doesn't matter what car it is is, nova, ferrari, or anything in between.
Simple fact is that someone's only means of transport has been taken from them.
How will you get to work without your car?
How will your kids get to school?
How will you get to the supermarket?
What if there was an emergency and you had to get somewhere ASAP?
They broke it, they either repair it, replace it, or compensate you.
I'm a swansea lad and can recommend you an excellent garage, 110% honest and trustworthy, owned and run by a true car enthusiast and ex vauxhall technician. And no they don't deal with M&J!
Been following this thread with interest but not checking in. Whenever I think about it this scene springs to mind...

I hope you get it sorted pal. Keep us updated.
Hey folks. This was posted on the 205gtidrivers forum and I've now shared it with the Swansea Metropolitan University Motorsport Society. I hope everything works out for you. We should get a load of nearby from all the different forums to go and block the entrance to his garage for a couple of days. Perhaps the threat of losing trade might persuade him to respond more favourably.
Swansea is dire generally it seems. Last month I had my 309 GTi stolen from Mount Pleasant without a trace. :(
Recurring theme for this garage?? http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/Da...ail/story.html This made me feel sick!
Seems the garage isn't reputable and has a habit of doing this.. Shouldn't be too difficult for you to get this sorted fella with them having a past record.
Still truly gutted for you!
In response to some previous posts that apparently I dont keep you updated. I do work full time therefore I havent got time to sit in front of the computer all day and night. And on the other hand as this is public I dont want to disclose too much info.
But I rang the garage yesterday to see if I could sort something out but all I got again was unapproachable behaviour and then he hung up!!!
A letter has been sent to VOSA and the police have been informed. Unfortunatly its a waiting game now, therefore I might not get any updates for a while - (sorry to dissapoint some of you)
Informing the police is pointless. As is ringing the garage.
You need to go to the police with the evidence that they were too incompetent to gather.
I bet the garage owner must be laughing.
Why would he be laughing?? Its a clear cut liability!!
Because it appears to him at this point in time that you have gone away with your tail between your legs. What he has effectively done is crash into you in the street, refuse to give you his details and drive off.
Informing VOSA isnt going to do anything other than MAYBE stop him from doing it to someone else in the future.
I hope the car is back in your possession and not still at that garage.
unfortunately i have to agree, nowadays you get NOTHING by waiting and hoping other people do their jobs. they won't.
you win by being loud, insistent (and annoying) until people give you what you want/need/are entitled to in order to shut you up.
go the the police and get it down on a complaint that he has crashed your car and then threatened you (make a big deal about this), then ring the police, vosa, trading standards, local press daily if you have to until someone cares. also get legal advice and get this sent to him in writing.
i can't think of other things but GET ADVICE and then don't go away, if you wait it will just get forgotten.
Go to citizens advice.
