Got the pinch bolts on the track rods & roughly setup, now has steering for the first time in about 6 months & finally back on all fours.
So you've made the hand brake hydo, that's cool.
Liking that hydro handbrake mount.
I assume you will be leaving the cable attached too?
Aye, hydraulic handbrake. But the harder way (IMO) although it looks neater then a secondary dead mans handle so meh
Yeah keeping the cable setup aswell, not that it matter where I take it for MOT anyway, but you never know lol
The rest of the brake line fittings should be here Monday so I can now run the brake lines into the rear, through the floorpan to the rear beam :) then it just leaves the front ones to sort out which is pish easy TBH.
Does look sound, nice job.
It'll look even nicer once the extinguisher lines, battery cable & a few other bits & peices are all mounted up the length of the tranny tunnel too :)
Yeah looks alright. Not happy with any of the paint finish inside the car though so in the spring ill have to strip the interior fittings out & repaint.
And its light enough now to lift it completely off its suspesion travel from the seat rails too.
Why have both? Surely you'd want the hydo for handbrake turns but it will be locking the drum up to so no need for both?
Cable is for current MOT requirements as far as I know.Quote:

Ah i see, nice.
Exterior side of roof vent finito.
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...IMG00085-1.jpg
Finished the handbrake lever.
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...r/IMG00087.jpg
Two more jobs off the list, ten thousand more to go :(
whats with the george cross dude. btw the cable one has to be fully functional on the raod for vosa, aswell as the mot. tricky area really.
Cos he's English! lol
Don't you remember the tow eye cover from his Nova?
As for the handbrake, doesn't it put extra stress on seals etc (as in parked up)?
I heard something along the lines once.
Looks great Mike :thumb:
Dont you just know it aswell lol its the little finishing touch's that make a car what it is, things you dont notice at first glance. Like the posh, etched manufacturer logo aluminium allen bolts Ive got.Quote:

Not really been upto much lately really, been tied up building a 4x4 Civic of all things :S
Just genrally minced about, hour here & there type thing.
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...IMG00089-1.jpg
Finally fitted this pos & not happy with it at all :(
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...IMG00090-1.jpg
Ran the brake line to the rear & now Goodridge are holding me up waiting for some elbow connectors.
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...IMG00091-1.jpg
Fire extinguisher pull & ****
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...IMG00092-1.jpg
Stole some multi directional vents from a pos Fiat & finished the inside of the roof vent too.
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...r/IMG00094.jpg
Aquired some bits from an original Mini for the front doors, some brackets from the Civics engine for use in the interior of my Corsa an not much else really.
re the handbrake...... park it in gear!
rally cars manage to get away with it all the time, so it must be almost legal
Mocked up the battery in the rear an with nowhere else for it to go its gonna have to sit down in the wheel well, all 12+kg of it. Not impressed....
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...IMG00098-1.jpg
General concensus is binning off the OE style battery off for a light weight Varley or Odessey item, fabricate & weld in a lightweight frame an sit it nice & low down in the well as forward as it can possible go.
No spare wheel anymore, so its a case of tyre weld in the glove box, if I even leave the glove box in lol
im sure col smith had a varley for sale....
whats the target weight of the full she-bang?
Ill have to take a peak at his For Sale's then I thinks.
Not really got a target weight TBH, just removing all the **** thats not needed & then some.
Mike 100% dry cell mate, one of the best thing Ive EVER bought for any car..
Looks nice in there now mate.
Scott
Now starting to look more like a car, just gotta go raid a base spec Corsa B so I can finish the standard electrics then its on with everything else thats left an finally a motor :)
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...r/IMG00106.jpg
Finished all the rear brake lines & just waiting on the front calipers.

Not really touched this shed for a while now but managed a hour here hour there type affiar over the last 2 months.

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...1_342059_n.jpg
Stripped the bay bare ready for paint an that, carried on where I left off with the stitch welding too.

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1..._4181897_n.jpg
Silky smooth just how we like it
http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1..._6608140_n.jpg
And then painted the underside of the bonnet, currently undecided as to what to do with the other side.

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1..._7996669_n.jpg
Can i ask why are you welding the bay? Are you full out rallying it?
Jealous, it looks almost complete inside and pretty carbon bits. Need to crack on with mine tbh lol altho uni work is beckoning too :(
There a bit left to do inside, mainly finish the dash loom (still) an sort through what I can cut out (removed nearly 10kg of wiring so far). Still to fit are carbon foot trays & plumb in the extinguisher.
But Ive been offered a new HH shifter for a steal of a price so might end up ripping out the centre console an shifter assembly yet :S
Benn, Re welding, figured I might aswell do it all whilst Im there & can get to it like. Done all round the bottom arm mounts & engine mount brackets, upper & lower front valance, front panel mounting, strut top to chasis legs area etc etc etc Just gotta remove the OE batt tray mounting & OE airbox bracket, weldup an spot drill holes an then paint the bay at some point :)
stitching it all stiffens the shell up nicely too, we all know they flex for fun lol
Ah ok, i've missed you doing the other welding. Do they flex that bad?Quote:

Apparently Corsa's are fine for your run of the mill 20XE conversion but I dont think they'd cope with about 250 motor horsepower & 100+ nitrous oxide ontop lol
Aye, not far of needing an engine now Edd, **** thing is even once I get one Ill still have to strip it, spend a fortune on it & then rebuild it before it even goes in :(
considering it costs basically nothing to do the stitch welding then why not?
Lately Ive acheived absoloutly nowt other then carbon kevlar wrapping lol will at some point, one day in the distant future actually crack on with this shed though lol lol

looks cool, what is it? lol
The slam panel lol
^^ thats gooood skills... hmm; cant really be done be with slam in-situ? lol
All im left to do is chop the steel slam panel out, fit this GRP one & then wrap the bonnet in carbon :)
