I've not got the spacer yet, it was posted seperate from the fanymould so it didn't get damaged.
The cutting won't start till I have every last panel I need, I'm heading to englandshire on Monday to pick up a pair of quarter panels :)
So once you have the quarters it's time to turn the grinder on ? lol
So when you get cracking / smashing / grinding / welding and maybe sleeping are we getting a daily update of your progress of madness and patience? :d
Not quite Edd lol still need to get a bettery tray and outer/inner rear arch repair sections and a gm front panel, once I have all the parts I'll lay them out and probably freak out at the size of the task ahead
southie, due to my shift pattern it'll probably be only 1 weekend in every 3 I could get a run at doing work on it, that's why I want every part I need so when I do get some time to work on it i'm not held back by lack of parts :)
loving it matey some nice kit you got there!!Quote:

I've seen alot of folk saying the FSE is pants, in mikes turbo guide he uses a rising rate one, in previous old threads I've seen cream XE injectors used, so I'll be doing plenty of research before even building the engine, also looking at megasquirt and megajolt systems too, certainly the standalone looks a much better choice.
Standalone would indeed be like night and day vs standard management 'fooled' into thinking it's running something different, it's also a night and day cost though lolQuote:

When Courtenay converted the e16's the set the fuel pressure rather than having a rising rate one, Craig could tell you what it is I would think.
Just to add the cheapest option would be to fit a presssure switch to sort the fueling, bout £10.
This is what I'll be doing with my 1300 turbo engine.
Depends how fussy you are about doing it properly, imo a pressure switch to tell the ecu to go into cold run mode is absolutely shocking as a product to be sold to the public, and marginally acceptable as a home bodge.Quote:

you need a sard rising rate reg (genuine one, not a hooky hong kong one)
Best way, exavctly what I used before.Quote:

also picked up a pair of GM quarter panels from John sowerby, cracking guy and good to meet him, also the wife drove the transit van the whole way down AND back!! Didn't even give me a go :(
not much done work wise on the nova even tho I've been of work, but decorating the house took over but i'm chuffed at the result
http://i790.photobucket.com/albums/y...1/6528f329.jpg
thats the first time ive seen one of those panels :d
Quite rare now, also got a pair of inner wings with strutt tops so all I need now is a gm front panel and a pair of front wings :)
Where did you get the chassis leg from Bazil ?
I'm pretty sure you can guess lol
thing is I'm going to have to remove the front part from the underfloor part as the forward section is standard nova spec and I have the forward section for the 1.6 with the extra internal plate,
Nothing is ever simple.
If you loop it into the CTS wiring yeah, or on the E16SE you wire it into the TPS so it tricks the ECU into full throttle map when it comes on boost. Obv the fuelling still enrichens via the AFM as that opens anyway. Not to mention the rising rate reg which is where the bulk of the fuelling comes from.Quote:

more bits today, i was over at fellow png member grooge's house with a sthill saw to help cut up his old 13sr, ( hardly any rust but front chassis leg damage:( ) but here is what i came home withlol

Just read the whole thread mate. Loving the idea of 1600 turbo.
There's some serious amount of rot on your gsi there mate, I scrapped my gsi 2 years ago which was no where near as bad as that!! I was very reluctant to scrap it as it was a real gsi and had many a good time in it like yourself, but when I was offered a near mint nova for £250 I had to take it. My gsi will live on, just in parts for my new 1 lol. Will look forward to more updates from you, looks like you've got some good panels to repair it so good luck.
Thanks ben, the project is in limbo ATM as I need to lay a new concrete floor in the shed before I start hacking it to bits lol.
That and it's to cold and wet :(
I want the bodywork completed and painted before the end of next summer so it's not forgot about just not a priority ATM
Your brave! or are you just stupid??
lol
either way enjoy mate..
Scott
lol it's either going to turn out brilliant or a waste of expensive and rareish parts lol
pmd mate
very nice mate, will be good to see some more progress on the rebuild when you have sorted out the shed to work in mate.
