Updates????
good work mate!
your doing a great job there.
just after reading through.
and i was about to say the same thing with reguards seeing this advertised for sale about 15 yeasr ago maybe.
it was in the blue pulll out classifies section that fast car used to have a couple of times.
i'm near sure i still have the evidence down at my mums house.
i must have a we look next time i'm down.
Any updates on this mate ??
Just read the whole thread great to see a nova sport being saved, as I owned one in my teens, dont mean to hijack thread;) but does anyone remember my old car C464 HKX.
Think it was in max power classifieds at the same time as this one?
Good luck with the rebuild hope you get it finished soon?
Any pics Paul? may help jog some memories
I wish mate, might have some at my mums back in Coventry? Owned it round about 1996/97, bought it from a motorsport dealer called Jason Lepley in mansfield, who used to advertise in motoring news/autotrader.
Was standard apart from koni suspension, ashley rally exhaust/4-2-1 manifold .
Wasnt there a nova sport register/picture gallery on this site at one time?
I have been working on it lately, just had no time to upload pics..
the welding is pretty much finished..
onto actual bodywork now (filler/primer/underseal)..
had stevie78 down looking at the sport last night, he seemed to be impressed. i was going to put his old 1650 (dans old track car engine) into the sport, but when he was down last night he told me to stick to the original sport engine.
I have now got the ORIGINAL engine to go with car!
Only thing i dont have now is the interior..
will get some pics up asap..
Thanks for the interest.
Greg
awsome work man great thread. nice to see some more pics
You'll need an oil pressure switch to work the oil pressure gauge with the 6-pod dials :)
Should be good to see some pictures
nice one mate, yeh get some pics up.
iain
Sport looks good mate, I know personally what this shell was like before all the work was done! Your doing the old shell justice - Far better than anything I could ever do
Crack on with it fella! Defo one to keep and it's nice to have sitting there
Any updates on this ????
just read through this, man you can fab stuff. now just wave £250 under vaughans nose for the interior.
£250 wouldn't even get an eyeball on it :thumb:
lol
Vaughan, any idea if Greg has done anymore to this?
Get it back if he ain't using it lol
Last I knew/seen it was lying on the floor as a bare shell waiting to have sills welded on
Nah mate, I wouldn't have it back
Fair enough mate, your mk1 shell is clean anyway
So he ain't done much to it then, seemed to be coming on at quite a pace as well
Aye...Clean and original :)
Nah no that I know of - It'll be a c*nt to get bits for them as well
pics needed
I MAY shift a few bits on soon, if I do there MAY be a rear seat going but not decided yet. Will let you know.Quote:

note the genuine mint wings (no side repeater holes) eventually found both!
Looking good, all starting to come together;)
Are you, going for the harlequin look as per VW?lol
Keep up the good work, hopfully my 2nd sport will emerge from it's hiding place this weekend:d
Very nice I have been keeping a quiet eye on this one.
I sound really picky here, but you not having the fixings all powdercoated?
Your going to have a lovely shiny white doorshut with an old looking door catch.
Key is in the detail and all that?
nice to see a update
keep it up
Cheers for comments, Paul it is just screwed in loosely, the backing plate had to be welded onto the quarter from the inside, i just had the catch screwed in so i dont loose them.
All things like that will be getting powdercoated or zinc coated (whatever it is)
Magnificent!!
All the best with it :)
Good progress Greg, getting there slowly but surely :)
Nice work there fella!
That yellow wing was my mates, he had it in his bed room for months and bought it for his Nova Diamond, believe it or not he was going to drill a hole in it until I told him there very rare :)
brilliant work there fella.
subscribing to the thread so i can keep an eye on it.

balley77vaux- thanks for getting your mate not to drill a hole! lol

after i actually thought about it seriously i put some gravitex on the inner wing just to see what the finish was going to be like. I am so happy with it, was worth spending hours taking them back to bare metal then re-applying underseal! what a finish! will look great with paint on!
