Good progress Mark :)
Dealer stick is a very trick touch.
Is that the same dealership sticker it would have left with or is that the modern day one that garage uses ?
It is a current one, but looking at it I dare say the design is circa 1990 as from around 2000 or so Vauxhall dealers all had the stickers supplied from the same company for a generic cloned lookQuote:

I know the one but I can't help, I had a few of them years agoQuote:

I have a brand new set of the skirts, they came from Somerset aswell iirc lol.
They are very rare genuine Vauxhall GMS skirts.
Everything is for sale at the right price ;)

I know what you mean about the rear bumper.
MK1 Bumpers all fit crap like that, ive modified the inside of mine to fit properly, like a mk2 one.
BTW, awesome work on the car.
^ pics or it never happened!
Ill have to take some mate, was a quite simple but genius way of getting the back bumper to line up perfect !!
Sounds good mate but would like to see how it looks. :thumb:
well i dont have a pic here, but i can try and explain how it works.
We modified the bracket on the inside of the bumper and boled a long bolt onto it with threads all the way down, then drilled a hole in the back of the car and took the plastic bracket off, then when you fir the rear bumper you put the bolt through the hole at the side and put a nut on from the inside, then you can tighten it as much as close you want the bumper to fit, and you drill the hole as high as you want the bumper to sit, so you can get the perfect fit. ill get a few pics if i remember.
brave man putting the decal on, dont know if i would fancy that!
Did my last sport, full car!!Quote:

nice work there matey , hope all is well
Bit of an update, not much but an update never the less
I wasnt happy with the original alignment of the rear bumper as per pic below
http://5rgftg.bay.livefilestore.com/...t/P1050478.jpg
http://5rgftg.bay.livefilestore.com/...s/P1050479.jpg
This is using the original brackets and they are mounted in them right, not very good!!
So a quick text to my mate Steve and he took the spare bumper i had away and made up some brackets that follow the shape of the original brackets, like so
http://5rgftg.bay.livefilestore.com/...E/P1050488.jpg
http://5rgftg.bay.livefilestore.com/...l/P1050489.jpg
I'm intending to then fit one of these per side
http://5rgftg.bay.livefilestore.com/...t/P1050491.jpg
so the bumper can be bolted from the inside similar to how a my2 bumper mounts inside the wheel arch. Ive also got some 2mm rubber that will go on the metal plates to stop it rubbing. Will keep you all updated, the end result should be a perfect mounted mk1 rear bumper.
Will also do a HOW TO guide once I know it works
This also arrived in the post a while back
http://5rgftg.bay.livefilestore.com/...d/P1050487.jpg
So gave it a coat of paint striper to get it like it is above and its currently sat in etch primer ready for paint
Engine bay is also 75% flattend and polished so that should be ready to take an engine anytime soon!!
Thats all for now folks!! :thumb:
Proper job..!
Ah like the rear bumper mount work... Good touch.
All coming together nicely :)
I remember this car from when I lived in Lancaster and had my first Sport (I live 300 miles south in West Sussex now).
I rang an early owner when it was for sale once, dithered and missed out on it. About a year later I spotted it on White Lund Ind Est and got chatting to the next owners (a very young couple).
I even have a newspaper advert cutting here somewhere from the Lancaster Guardian from when it was for sale in about 1992-93 :)
Quality!! Any chance of a scan of the advert?? :thumb:Quote:

:thumb:
it's always bugged me that the writing never lines horizontally on the oil cap when the cap is on! Is it matt black mark?
