My plans over the winter are to rebuild the engine to Standard spec but run phase 2 genuine EDS if i can get hold of a chip.
Convert from f20 to f28.
New FMIC and piping to include chav' valve lol
Coilovers refurb'd
Lock set and to get the ******* heaters working lol :)
Will get out on it abit more over the next couple weeks maybe even borrow some room in a lock up.
Quick question when it comes to rebuilding it will it be easier with the engine out im guessing so?
oh god yes to the engine out.
if your rebuilding the engine, get an engine stand. they are priceless
yea i think my mate has one of them not sure, saying that there only £40 on ebay posted :)
may even get the engine painted up then :)

Please don't ruin it by putting a mk2 front end on it Joe :(
Mk1 FTW :)
Oh and sorted a camera out ffs lol get some pics when your doing all the work
yea im defo going to get a camera for working on it,
I know i like the mk 1 better but as ive had 3 now i was thinking of trying mk2 as i have a gsi bumper sat in the garage
sell the gsi bumper on ebay, for about £100, then you can buy another head gasket lol
Id concentrate on getting it all working properly mechanically first before worrying about what bumper to fit lol
lol wont sell the bumper i want to use it
yea thats true edd, ive priced up most of it just trying to get the money now
right fingers crossed tomorrow im going to collect an F28 gearbox and while i was speaking to the seller the postman came with
Xe inlet cam (cheers saloonwoody)
F28 mount set (cheers chris astley lol, looks like hes still trading)
And hopefully on my travels pop up and see edd to get a heater matrix and Gte front bumper.
Couple bits to order from autovaux and im away for now :)
Will sort a camera for when i start to remove the engine and get the box swaped over :)

http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/w...o/DSCF0368.jpg
1st thing i had to do was clear some room ( remove a nova from the garage)
http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/w...o/DSCF0369.jpg
i put all the front end suspension back together ready to roll out
You may recognise the nova on the right as my ex missus nova there is a thread about it when i fitted the c16xe, however that has been removed and is awaiting a LET
The nova on the left is 6 Pot Nova's Rwd saab turbo in the making.
With the nova out of the way, my mate had a sweep up

http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/w...o/DSCF0373.jpg

Nice to see your working on it at last mate
New intercooler looks like you might have a few issues with the pipe work due to the angle of the ends, looks a decent size tho

http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/w...o/DSCF0409.jpg
http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/w...o/DSCF0410.jpg
After about an hour of grinding it was gone its fully gone now only pic i got
http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/w...o/DSCF0413.jpg
next plan of action was to remove the F20 and fit the F28 so i can get the mount welded on
The new gearbox

Right the next of my problems is the fact that the rear engine mount wont bolt on,
I know the holes which need tapping but have never done it so anyone got any tips?
Joe
Well done Joe, nice skills.
