Hello all,
Well got the old girl back yesterday afternoon.
Big thanks to Stu for working wonders on the wiring.
All headlight & indicator wiring now runs through the near side inner wing, Fuse box removed & re-located, 'shelf' made to house the ecu, power steering ecu, alarm control box etc.
Here are a few pics now its back.

Behind where the fuse box used to live is the power steering electric motor & 'disco lights' control box.

Gave it a quick wash too.

Need to sort a few things out now. Its a pig to start then when you blip the throttle when it finally does start it tries to die.
The fuel regulator needs setting & after swapping the throttle bodies i need to balance them.
Hopefully those two things are what are making it hard to start.
Need to get it upto rolling road i suppose & get it sorted asap.
Martin
Awesome!! You've gotta be chuffed with Stu's work. One hell of a nova you have there mate.
looks great mate :thumb:
loving the flocked dash :d
Christ i thought there was alot of wires are stuff behind my dash..lol
Looking awesome dude.
WOW. Looks a hell of a lot better than when i saw it last - its was a right bloody mess inside! Stu really has worked his magic with the wiring...
He said he was hoping to get rid of it this weekend so he can have his garage back :)
I was going to say i love the wiring (Yes im sad), But then i scrolled down.
Ive never seen your car before this thread and imo it looks great. Liking the bare bones interior.
Think he was glad to see tha back of it!!! :)Quote:

Ordered a fuel pressure gauge from SBD today that screws into the pressure regulator.Quote:

Hoping the pressure is off the scale & its overfueling making the thing hard to start as its flooding itself.
If its not will call engine builder to get around & sort it out.
Martin
Best of luck with that.
One of the best engine bays ive seen on here. The whole car looks very well done mate, awesome job!
hi car looks great as it always hasQuote:

Both were from Demon Tweeks.
I actually never used the coil one, as when i had the throttle boddies fitted it now has a coil pack & not a coil, so if your interested i'am going to sell it or stick it on the bay.
Drop me a pm if interested.
P.S.
Not much happened to car recently. Waiting for engine builder to come around as throttle boddies need setting after they were swapped.
Next job is brakes as last time i drove the car they were cr*p. Not looking forward to this as i hate messing with this bias pedal box.
Looking really good there Martin, love the exposed belt and the fancy thing that sits inside it
ThanksQuote:

That 'fancy thing' is a Swindon engines belt cover.
Never knew a piece of plastic could cost so much :)
I didn't have a clue what it was called but Rick Draper and Will F run them and they look super posh, I didn't think it was possible to make this car better but you've done it proud again
Swindon belt cover was imho the best bit on my whole nova.
Stunning Martin, I can honestly say the best just got better. I've always loved this car wether it be in Mistral or erm Purple? lol
never seen this before. looks awesome!
where u going for rolling road setup/tuning martin?
Had a wee read through Martin - You've made a tidy car very very tidy
You taking it to any shows next year ? Last time I seen it was PVS 08...
Hello,
As there had been very little progress recently due to waiting for engine builder / mapper to come round & sort my non start issues out i hadnt posted anything.
Well this afternoon they came round. Tim Adams who built it & John Toovey who mapped it both came to take a look.
Not really sure what the main problem was, i need to re-earth the engine as that was weak, he also advised as battery was re-located to under the seat i'am best running another earth from the battery direct to the engine as well as the earth from the terminal to the shell.
As soon as we were cranking the voltage was dropping too much, earthed it with a jump lead & finally got it to go.
John did his thing with the laptop, no idea what he was doing other than adjusting the fuel for start up.
One spark plug wasnt happy, so popped to local motor factors, got new set of four and now its as happy as larry!
Took if for a quick shakedown around the block a few times and all seems ok. Gearlinkage needs adjusting again as not happy with 1st, 3rd etc but other than that it was nice to get behind the wheel again.
Next job is to do the earths & hopefully pick heated screen up Wednesday so will have that to get done.
Noticed too some dents appeared in my roof, probably due to sticking stuff on it when cover is on, so need to get dent man around to work his magic, then another bleed of brakes & time to get it MOT'd
Happy days :)

Looking good Martin!....... Make sure you use someone who has an excellent reputation for paintless dent removal as done incorrectly on a dark colour like yours could potentially be bad news. Im sure Ade culley should be able to point you in the right direction as Im sure his shop will draft someone in the same as we do etc.
Nick.
Great news dude :) At least its all fixable and relatively easy to sort. When i expect a passenger ride then?! ;)
Fantastic Martin. Almost all ready for the show season then.
Just out of intrest how much was the belt cover.
Alot :)Quote:

Chris no problem for a ride, when its all done in the summer be happy to take you out.
Martin
Happy days indeed! Looks great.
Great work dude, glad its all sorted.
Ground wise, think like the jap boys. They ground everything and say you can gain back a few horse from it..
What brakes are on it now?
Cheers :)Quote:

You took any notice of the sychrometer use they may have done?? lol
Looks superb, sounds nice too!!!
what ratio final drive do you run in the quaife box?
looking very impressive
Now your asking, memory serves me right 4.2 final drive with longer 5th gear as i found on motorway driving it was useless.Quote:
