Bays looking good, love the header tank, but the caps looks poo. Needs a metal one.

Looking good, bet you cant wait to have it finished finally.
From what ive seen theres noway to stop the coilovers getting covered in crap and seizing. Maybe a small amount of copper grease around the area where the adjusters are and then wirebrush it if you ever want to change the height.
True, but them seizing on is a c**t.Quote:

I just used spray grease on mine and they held up well, didn't attract to much dirt and debris, looking really good Pete
Are you on about a metal cap for the Bailey tank? I could be interested, maybe group buy potential?
Yeah i will put some sort of grease on the threads.Quote:

Minor update. As the evenings have been good, and the misses is away with work in the week, i have been doing abit after work.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMGP2352.jpg
Sorted my F20. Yes it is a clean one, but i can assure you it did NOT look like this a while back!! Been sat behind my parents shed since i took the engine out of the donor Astra GTE!!!! Thats a fair few years of grime to shift!! Gave it a minor rebuild. New gaskets, oil seals and a general check over. Vauxhall wanted nearly £15 for each gasket, ebay wanted £5.99 for 6 sheets of A4 gasket paper...hmmm ok then! DIY FTW! Gave the clutch arm a lick of paint aswell.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMGP2350.jpg
Stripped down the linkage, cleaned and regreased. Mount got a lick of paint aswell.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMGP2356.jpg
Sorted my brakes aswell. Cleaned them and painted them, new pads aswell.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMGP2355.jpg
Built them up and fitted them along with my Goodridge hoses.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMGP2357.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMGP2358.jpg
Rears got the same treatment. Will finish them in the week.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMGP2361.jpg
New bearings, hubs/discs aswell..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMGP2362.jpg
Brake lines are now on the car. Not quite finished, but wont take long.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMGP2359.jpg
Got a few more bits fitted aswell, after raping my mates old shell!! See the FS section for goodies that are FS!!! Shameless plug!
Heater motor, wpier jets and wiper linkage..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMGP2354.jpg
Gave my wiper motor a lick of paint..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMGP2353.jpg
Thats it really. Hopefully the next update will show the engine sat in the bay!!
Looking good Pete,

Yeah it should mate, or at least near to road worthy. Workload, social life (its summertime= lots of drinking sessions!!) and also the biggest reason is i am due to be a dad in september (hence the deadline!) so been sorting stuff out baby related aswell. Not wanting to throw in the towel and sell up because of the baby so other things have had to take priority. It WILL get finished trust me!!!Quote:

Single V pulley. Fitted to the engine. Along with a new alternator. Will get some pics of the engine this week. The last of my hoses arrived from Roose last week, so will get them fitted along with the loom and then i can drop the engine in.

I must say Pete im impressed, the wait looks like it going to be worth it, getting there slowly, and it's really coming on well... Wish i had a time and a garage to work in (the one i had has just been knocked down, the missis dad is redoing the hole garden etc) was just about to do some things in there on the MK1 ready for billing, will have to hope for good weather and do it at the olds on there drive now.
And congratulations on the baby mate, didn't know as Ive not spoke to you in a while..
Keep on it.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMGP2491.jpg
Finishing touches added to the engine. Hoses, loom etc.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMGP2492.jpg
Then the fun task of getting the engine off the stand!! Cue some chocking with wood and abit of panicing..on my part!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMGP2493.jpg
But no need...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...a/IMGP2494.jpg

After some strong man attempts and some swearing it went in! Not a scratch either..well 1 but not major or seen, so happy!
