Got the engine out tonight so I can now prep the engine bay ready for when I paint it.
I have all the paint in stock and received the Bailey header tank today.
Still waiting for the carbon fibre door and boot trims and not 100% decided on what to do with the doors yet (repair or not to repair - I have 2 mint doors but they're de-handled) :s
Looking sorry for itself:

Another before and after...
How the engine bay was after taking the engine out:

And after a LOT of arsing around with de-greaser, it needs more time spending on it before I can start prepping for paint but it's much better:

Getting there :)
de-greaser is so good lol
lol get stuck in there kev lad , this has to be at PV lol
It was still quite a bit of effort though and still more to do. It seems like some parts of the bay have previously been painted without being prepped properly and the de-greaser was actually taking the paint off! Should have that bit done tonight.Quote:

Small update. Had plans to get loads done today but we went out lastnight and I felt very rough this morning so there is no motivation whatsoever, I have hoovered loads of dust out of the shell though lol

Got the engine bay prepped and primed, big thanks to Nick (novaload_nick) for prepping the bay while I got on with other bits inside the car:

I haven't used the compressor and spray gun for something like 8 years and it all worked as good as I left it!
Theres a few more jobs to do inside then it can be primed inside, I'll sort out the few rust spots on the arches at the same time.
I'm dreading painting inside, it's gonna be very difficult with the cage in there!
Cool.
Where did you get your "spray booth" from?
