Christ thats a hell of a list of cars...
Thats alot of people with big wallets...
Jesus, thats quite a list of motors.
Cant wait to see some of those zooming down the pit straight.
What time are you getting there Olly? 9am start?????
We'll be there from 07:30am add, for signon and briefing...
Unfortunately, I will get bummed down both straights due to my lack of BHPs lol
There is not a foooken chance I could keep up with any of those on a straight :(
Cool, see you there.
Is this at donny on sundat 16th nov?
9th as in next weekend?
No woories about MIG, just thought I'd try n shut him up. No doubt he'll post something cocky back.
lol yes, next weekend/ this sunday/ 9th november lol
me and the other half will do our best to pop up and say hello and watch the action
lol
I've got to pay a visit to a mate and his family and he lives only 3miles from the circuit so could of been cool to combine the too but don't think this weekend will be feasable. We'll see tho.
Well if you do decide to venture west... please do come and say hello!
We've been at many shows/ events together and you've never come and made yourself known before :D
Wud be rude to come all that way and not say hello! lol
Olly, any plans to do Rockingham or Bedford autodrome anytime soon?
Fook me that is a hell of a list! As long as the ****ter doesn't break between now and then i'll come up to spectate Ol! Do some good ol' pit wall / last corner shots for you as long as it isn't raining :D
Let me know if you want me to bring tools / jack etc... :)
Car is now ready for Donington,
fitted new wide angle lens to camcorder so i could bring the camcorder further towards the front of the car, but you can see more cockpit/ steering/ peddles & shiftlights etc
wired in new datalogger and telemetry unit
hammered out the majority of the dents, rear quarter almost looks pre-tyrewall
replaced the rear wheel bearings tonight
Olly how did you get inside the panel to get to most of the dents? Or did you not need to go very deep inside the panel?
didn't need to go very far in, and where the dents were - they were exposed on the inside, so could just persuede it back out :thumb:
doors are majorly hollowed out, as is the rear quarter area
Sadly not gonna make Donny (was quite looking forward to it)
Got a family day out to Basingstoke to take a dieing aunt out to lunch - joy of joys!
Call in sick! lolQuote:

have fun mate :D
Fun, lots of it you must have.
Hi Oli, long time no see mate! I will pop along on sunday, just watching but would be great to catch up. Havnt seen this nova yet, last time i saw you was at the Nurburgring about 3 years ago?
See you sunday mate.
Karl
Cheers Karl, it'll be good to see you, however unfortunately the weather definately isn't on our side lol
Yup, certainly was our Ring trip in Sept 2005
Been out for a bit of play tonight the the performance box, and my maximum longitudinal acceleration, was 0.94G and deceleration was 0.71G bearing in mind I was on wet public roads I have nothing to compare it to but sounds alright lol
I do have the lateral acceleration information but I've not figured out how to interpret that yet. Looking forward to seeing some figures from Donington :)
A graph, just because :D
SPEED & LONGITUDINAL ACCELERATION vs TIME
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/PboxInfo.jpg
Christ, you hit 52mph in first!? I'm guessing that not even flatout?
Impressive kit none the less
nah, not flat out, as it was raining at the time, so the wheels we spinning :( and beacuse its GPS based, its strictly on the cars movements. you can tell as it took me nearly 10 seconds to get there lol
1st gear should travel to 64mph with full traction and some slicks so it doesn't brake traction in the dry :thumb:
So my 0-60mph speed won't be fantastic due to the long first, but then it'll help not having to change gear to get there... swings & roundabouts really :)
nice man 50 odd in first i like the sounds of that lolQuote:

Bad news is that when I rolled up to the place, I had to drive up a kerb head on as a car was in the way of the flat piece, and I walloped my manifold as that got to the kerb before my wheels did... doh!
Mahoooosive dent in one of my primaries on my manifold which highly annoyed me, so I'll cut a section out and re-weld a part of tubular over it :(
Not before Donny tho, I'll do that when I don't have any time limits lol
Is that a racelogic perf box? Nice bit of kit! The 0.94g accel sounds optimistic to me!
I tried some quick starts in my nova with the long first and had a lot of clutch slip, I was probably not giving it enough revs/sharp enough drop of the clutch though.
have fun mate.
If you have time and can be bothered to remove the manifold from the car, a neater solution may be to drill a whole from behind the dent and use a punch to knock the dent out, then just plug weld the little hole.Quote:
