Update
I eventually got the front bumper back after it being painted in the wrong colour blue, I wasted no time in getting it fitted so I could see an almost finished product.

With lots of preparation running up to the PVS weekend I was all ready to go on the Saturday at 5am, fortunately I had no issues on the way down with the vec or trailer so looked like a good weekend ahead

I got to santa pod around half 8 and unloaded the car all set to try it down the strip, this was pretty much the first time it was used besides a couple of short test runs up my street, I was worried it may just fall apart after a run or two as it hadn’t been tested at full chat.
Through out the morning I managed to do 11 runs, best time of 13.4s at 109mph. As it was my first time on a drag strip and the cars first time outing I was pleased with the results. Traction is the biggest issue, followed by a heavy foot. Judging by my rubbish 60ft times Im hoping I can get into the 12s with how it is, I will be sorting out some yoko a048 tyres for my cesaros and couple other tweeks to get the most out of it.
I did have an issue with a slipping clutch and then 1st, 3rd and 5th gears not feeling right on my 8th run, I did adjust the clutch a little bit and didn’t experience any slip after that, the gear issue is adjustment. I still have my rose jointed linkage to fit at some point.
Heres some pics,

Sunday morning came around quickly, with being on the power and style awards stand I had to be there for 8, but a sausage and egg mcmuffin put me behind in the traffic getting into the show. Lol
I had to give it a wipe down after it being used Saturday and dirt being sprayed up onto it from the vec whilst on the trailer, also had to re-adjust the front ride height as I raised it to help out the angle of the passenger driveshaft. I was going to change the headlight back but I just couldn’t be bothered.

I loved the attention the car was getting, seeing people look around it and take pictures made me think its been worth while. I know its not perfect as the paint sucks and theres still bits and bobs to sort out, but I enjoyed it.
Sunday evening saw the car back in my garage awaiting some fettling,
More to come….
